"Tried to check in at 4pm, Issues with check in due to weather issues the day prior, but this was told this, just room was not ready. Waited till 5:20 for room/keys, went to room and it was still being cleaned. Waited another 20 minutes. Dot 2 drink tickets for the wait. Had the worst 2 beds I have ever seen/tried to sleep on in over 30 years of traveling the US. Dips in mattresses were horrendous. Not able to change rooms as "no other rooms available", supposedly, we saw a couple of other unoccupied room in same building. Maybe the per booked golfers get the good rooms. "

"The remote location was wonderful! I definitely recommend 4 wheel drive for the dirt roads that get you to the location. It's about a 25 minute drive to the main drag at Terlingua and about 45 minutes to get to the entrance of the park. The amenities worked out really well and our host was very quick to help if we needed anything! I would definitely stay here again"

"My son and I stayed at Spirit House for a week of Spring Break hiking in Big Bend. Spirit House was perfect for us; great location in Terlingua Ghost Town and very short drive to west entrance to Big Bend. The property was as-described and very clean. It had more than enough utensils to cook breakfast and pack lunches in the morning before venturing out for the day. Its location in Terlingua meant we only needed to park and then just enjoy the location in the evening.I highly recommend the food at the To Die For Food Truck and DBs Rustic BBQ. I really enjoyed a cold brew and live blues-rock at The Boat House after a day of hiking. We enjoyed the ambiance and history of The Starlight Theater (food was good here, but not as good as the other options, and not worth the 2 hour wait it seems to draw every night).After dinner, my son and I would pull the chairs into the side yard and watch the sky transition from sunset to twilight to night sky. Fantastic star gazing!The internet was high speed and made it super simple to plan the next day's adventure over sodas under the stars.I highly recommend for a traveling couple."

"The Perch is such a great place to stay if you plan on getting off the grid and away from the fast paced life. The property is great and secluded. Everything was clean and the home is well equipped for anything you want to do. You can see the sunrise and set and get great views of the night sky. The Perch is not far from Big Bend National Park and offers a great place to return to after a long day at the park. This place is a must book/see and we will be returning again in the future. We had great communication with our host with perfect instructions. "

"Property is very cute. Has a lot of character! Was in a great location for Terlingua. Bed was not great. Would suggest putting in a new mattress."

"My wife and I are in our 70's. The two chairs, small table, and bed are very low to the floor. We had a hard time getting out of them. No arm rest on either of the chairs. A couple of standard chairs and table would have been nice. Both showers were pretty unique, but the inside shower floor was pretty slippery and no grab bars for elderly people like us.Other than what I mentioned above it is a wonderful place."

"This place was very cute and clean. The bed was extremely comfortable, which we always have a hard time with beds. There is no bathroom or shower in the dome itself but that was in the description. Bath house is in a separate dome within walking distance. Our Host Lauren communicated very well with us in giving information and instructions. Our only downfall was that we were unable to get the coffee maker to work. And as coffee drinkers, that was not good. But overall our stay was a good one and if we were to come back we would choose the domes again. If you are traveling to Big Bend National Park, it is about 20-30 minute drive. Also, driving to the dome is a dirt road with mesquite bushes and brush on both sides of the roads. Our truck got scratched up pretty bad, even with us driving carefully. There was no way of missing it on either sides. So just be aware of that. "
