2/10 Terrible

"The Hotel is looking tired and the fact that we had a heatwave that was over clearly had not registered with them. The bedding was really thin and there was no heating - consequently the room was really cold and I had to sleep in a hoody and other clothes. Breakfast was buffet style and the first warning came with a glass slightly larger than a thimble for juice. The cooked food had clearly been on heat for 2 hours - the bacon was like leather, cremated sausage and scrambled egg floating in some liquid - this was not a great experience and I will not repeat it. That said the staff were friendly and helpful and the location has so much potential - but the coffee machine held together by tape and cardboard says it all."

"Window blinds was ripped, tea provided was too limited & toilet roll was too thin. Also breakfast was below standard, it was look worm & baked beans was too watery lack taste. Bed provided for child (aged 14) was not up to standard as compared to other hotels I have been to. I loved the grounds & tranquil nature of the surroundings. Also, I found reception staff helpful."

"Great location and huge hotel. Booked it for my son’s birthday as we were going to Legoland the next day. Room was a great size but very hot due to the weather - no air con in the rooms so hotel had provided fans but the plugs were on the other side of the room so fans couldn’t reach us in bed - needless to say we had a very poor nights sleep. Equally problematic was the lack of plug sockets near or by the bed - there weren’t any, So we couldn’t charge phones or devices, nor could we use the room’s mini fridge to keep water cold because the fans were using up all free sockets. Also disappointed to discover that the swimming pool was closed the previous month for over 6 months - one of the main reasons I booked this hotel was for the pool. Not once did we receive communication that it would be closed during our stay. However staff were super friendly and kind to my son especially, and the breakfast we had was good. Overall hotel is nice, just some key things let it down"

"A great place to stay, perfect after a wedding at the venue. Food in the pub was delicious and nice outdoor seating to relax and unwind. Only downside was the rooms didn’t have air conditioning (it was a hot day) and the windows only opened a tiny bit which was probably due to H&S reasons. The room did have a small fan though. All in all a great weekend."
