"Place is clean and staff at front desk were friendly. Pool is nice and well kept. Bar at the pool is a plus. Rooms were decent, though I would’ve liked a safe for my valuables. Beds were comfortable and the view from our terrace was nice. Overall the property seems a bit outdated, but it’s well kept and respectable. Right on the water, which is nice for sun sets and view, but the actual beach is a couple blocks away. Not far at all. Salty’s across the street and a block away was good. Restaurant in hotel (Jimmy’s Fish House and Iguana Bar) was good. Staff and bartenders were good and food was decent too. Live music every night we were there. All in all it was a good stay. A little pricy considering the pool was the only amenity. Game room was closed because of storm damage and no gym. So basically it’s called a resort because of the pool and the restaurant. If I went back I would probably try a place across from the beach or more in the center of town, even if it costs a little more. However, I don’t have too many complaints about this place. We had a good stay and perfect weather to boot."

2/10 Terrible

"Hotel outdated, view from balcony room not worth it, you mostly see the terrace of the bottoms floor, we were there Wednesday through Saturday and not once did they make our bed, just changed twice our towels. Staff was not friendly, only Adam was nice from pool bar. Not pleased at all and would never return."

"The beach view from our room was perfect, rooms are a bit older but the room was very clean & everything worked. Beds were comfortable along with the pillows. We had good water pressure and it was always hot. Wi-Fi worked perfectly. The staff was super friendly & helpful. Sloppy Joes was decent, views from our table perfect, food was reasonably priced. Both pools were warm and clean. Parking included."

Opal Sands Resort

"We enjoyed the pool. There were plenty of chairs around the pool. The pool had a walk inside for my six-year-old. The pool was large. The staff around the pool was very helpful and gave us ice cream. The kids enjoyed that. There was also a connect for and cornhole next to the pool on a field. The drinks were good. The hotel was walkable to the beach. We did not have to cross any streets. We were able to take towels from the hotel to the beach. There were third-party vendors on the beach to rent, umbrellas, chairs, or a cabana. The restaurants were good. We enjoyed the food and drink at the restaurants. There is a bridge that connects the sister property across the street. The hotel is walkable to Pier 60, but there are other hotels that are a little closer to Pier 60 like the Wyndham. There were also other restaurants that we could walk to."

Clearwater Beach Sheraton Resort on Sand Key

6/10 Okay

"We found the room to be "okay" We found a large toe nail trimming under the chair/table by the entertainment unit, our shower was not draining, and a couple mens facial hair shaving/trimmings on the counter of the bathroom. Our room was 218- It was particularly loud in the hallway- could have been our neighbors. If staying there, I would book direct as Hotels.com charged me an extra $20 in a slick way with no good excuse. I booked for 3 and only had 3 people, yet a weird $20 charge is on my bill via the Hotels.com side. The staff was nice. Parking was full! The lil store was small. It was a great location for our event though, so... that part was nice."
