We stayed here for one night before getting the ADO bus to Tulum. This hotel is an oasis of ancient trees with a little pool and breakfast included. It was literally a 5 minute walk from the bus station and there were lots of great bars and restaurants very close by.

The room was very clean and the staff were welcoming. What I learned at check-in was that there is a no alcohol policy. I wasn't in Cancun to party but I do enjoy a beer or drink by the pool. I stayed 4 nights and on the 3rd night I only had a 5 minute shower because the water slowed down to a trickle. Also if you go out in the evening the gate may be shut so you have to wait on someone to open it. Then when you come back there is a button to push. It was very relaxing though and the A/C and ceiling fan kept it cool.

Hotel El Rey del Caribe is my new favorite hotel! I stayed one night and felt very sad to leave. It's the perfect oasis in the hustle and bustle of Cancun. Our room was clean with comfortable beds and linens, and very well equipped for a short or long stay, the pool was delightful as was the outdoor shower, the gardens were lush and beautiful, the complimentary breakfast was decent and appreciated, and the service was good! I truly wouldn't change a thing, and I hope this thoughtfully designed hotel stays the same for a very long time to come. I can't wait to return! There are many coffee shops and restaurants within walking distance and the proximity to the ADO bus station is very handy. It's a relatively quick ride to the airport as well, about 15-20 minutes depending on traffic. 10 out of 10!
