All that glitters is not gold. I had high expectations of this new “grand” hotel. Let me start with checkin- not the friendliest staff. The room was ok, refrigerator was not working in room had to call 3 times to get service. No ice on floors had to constantly ask at lobby bar.
The breakfast buffet had many selections and again staff seemed uptight and very much like they were monitoring your food intake. The rooftop bar was another miss, it was a very nice scenic view but the food was a joke . Ordered wings and that was a major fail had to send it back because they were cold. Unbelievable missed opportunity for the beautiful rooftop bar. The manager Roberto did not charge us for the food and really did try to amend the situation which was very considerate of him he even gave us dessert to go. All in all I would not return to Riu neither will I recommend.
