"We’ve stayed at several properties in Matagorda, and this one stands out by far! The hosts are absolute pros — hands down the best communication we’ve ever had through Vrbo (and we’ve rented all over the country). Super organized, super responsive, and genuinely thoughtful.The location is amazing — right on the beautiful Colorado River! Our teens were in heaven fishing and crabbing off the dock. During the day, we piled into the Jeep and drove straight onto the beach (yes, you can drive on the beach — just make sure your vehicle is up for it). It was the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation.The hosts have truly thought of everything. They even installed a water system because Matagorda water isn’t always the best — such a game-changer. Plus, there’s a super easy 2-minute drive into town to fill up a 5-gallon jug with fresh water. Details like that really set this place apart from others in the area. The kitchen is also fully stocked — just bring your groceries and you're good to go!Only small hiccup was with the washer/dryer, but the hosts responded immediately and already have plans to address it. Even with the minor glitch, we were still able to get a few loads done, no biggie at all.Just one safety tip: walk with care on the stairs to the upstairs bedrooms. The hosts did put down anti-slip strips, but still worth taking it slow, especially with kiddos or if you're carrying things.Overall — we highly recommend this property! It’s a perfect river beach combo."

"My husband & I needed some peace & quiet. A place to reconnect & recharge ourselves. The wind off the bay melted away the stress. The sound of the waves calmed our soul. The comfortable chairs turned the clock back. Everything was as described. Nice, clean & comfortable. The bed was cozy. Plenty of towels. Well the kitchen could use a few more towels & pot holders. But well stocked with paper towels, spices, sugar, coffee, etc. The owner was pleasant & friendly. Will definitely come back. Thank you for sharing your home. "

"Nice little house on the river in Matagorda. The house was the perfect size for the two of us. We enjoyed drinking coffee in the mornings on the back deck looking out over the river and marsh lands. The furiture was comfortable and the house was clean when we got there. We ended up sleeping on the futon in the livingroom because the portable a/c unit in the bedroom was super loud and the bed was super soft in the middle. The dock light was nice, but did attract alot of bigs when on. FYI- the water has a bit of a sulfur smell, so we used bottled water for coffee. Parking was good and having an outdoor sink was nice when fishing on the dock to rinse off my hands. We used the hose to rinse of fishing poles and feet when we came back from the beach. All in all a great place to stay for the price."
