"Great location for exploring the Cotswolds and Oxford - beautifully maintained, spacious, comfortable well equipped bedrooms. Dinner was excellent but the lack of sit down breakfast facility apart from weekends may put some people off but we found somewhere a short walk away that was good so not a big deal. Very attentive staff too."

"A great place to stay - we were 7 friends so all had a really comfortable bedroom and bathroom (in the main house and the cottage. The living room was perfect for us but may have a bit small for 14 if you wanted to be in the same place, but there was a small TV room and a big lounge in the cottage too so plenty of places for people to be apart as well. The kitchen in the main house was great although could have done with some more dessert spoons so we borrowed some from the cottage as we all ate in the main house. A lovely big dining table (which would have seated 12) and a perfect place for a special dinner (we hired a great chef from yhangry). The top floor bedroom was huge but there is a low beam above the bed at about 5'4" so remember to duck unless you're short. Bedding was really comfortable, crisp cotton sheets and everything super clean. As soon as we can agree a date we'll be booking up again for next year. One request would be for magnifying mirrors in the bathrooms for us older folk with poor eyesight!"

"Property is great and would highly recommend to anyone heading to the Cotswolds area. Nice, quiet, accessible home that's a great place to "come home to" after day of touring. Good proximity to lots of locations (Stratford Upon Avon, Stonehenge, Bath, etc). The home is very well equipped and has space to spread out. Rooms had decent space and beds were comfortable. Shower had good water pressure. Kitchen was well equipped and host even provided a nice cake upon arrival. Living room, dining room, and sun room were all very well maintained and I think the actual furniture was newer (different style) than what was shown in the photos. Also had little clothing washer. Only issue we had was that the location was not accurately plotted on Google Maps (or Apple Maps don't recall which one we were using at the time) and it took us down the street to one of the neighbors. Fortunately, the neighbor came out (very nice guy) and pointed us to the right house. Also, seems pretty typical for houses in the area, but the 4PM check-in was kind of late and the 10AM check-out seemed a little early (used to 11AM-12PM). Overall, would definitely recommend to small families."

"We absolutely loved our stay at Shire Cottage. It was stylishly presented and spotlessly clean - it felt like new. The cottage was well equipped, airy, comfortable and light and so quiet and tranquil. The location is excellent for exploring Stratford upon Avon and the nearby Cotswolds. Fresh flowers were also a delightful touch - we would love to stay again and would highly recommend."

"A very cosy cottage, with a well presented garden (garden furniture would have been nice as we hit 20 degrees in March and it would have been good not to have to take out kitchen chairs to sit on). The kitchen was well equipped and really lovely (inside the oven could do with a bit of a clean, but didn’t deter from its use). My only criticism would be that it’s in a bit of a need of a refresh. The paintwork, walls are looking a little tired. But again doesn’t detract from it being a cosy house. The beds are super comfy the log burner was excellent. The cosy dining area was perfect for breakfast. Lovely to have lots of Ordnance Survey maps and local walking books. Books to read, games and jigsaws. The George is a short walk up a gentle hill and was very good. The food was delicious. The butcher in Upper Brailes is amazing. The walk from the Church on the paths across the fields to the windmill was lovely (the local farmer, guided us) Theo the log delivery man was so lovely. We met him as we arrived. Although it is on the main road it doesn’t affect the relaxed, calming feel of the house. Highly recommended."
