Filario Hotel & Residences

"The Filario hotel and staff are amazing! I highly recommend this property. It is clean, comfortable, beautiful, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The views from our balcony were spectacular; the Beaty of the lake and the wonderful sunsets. We were able to sleep with the balcony door open a bit to listen to the waves on the lake. I will definitely return to the Filario on our next trip to Italy and Switzerland."

"Just a little hard to find but very close to the train station and just a short walk to the ferry and center of Varenna. Very nice room!"

"Room was cleaned thoroughly each day to a degree I’ve never seen in the US. All staff cheerful and helpful. Head bellman (who is either the owner or is re-enacting the plot from “Roman Holiday”) goes out of his way for the guests’ pleasure and convenience. Fitness room could use a better treadmill but it probably is only used on rainy days (like my last day there). Breakfast Buffett is excellent especially with made to order omelettes on weekends."
