"Let’s start with the good: great location, and the staff is genuinely friendly and helpful. Now, the rest. My room was so small I’m pretty sure it was designed for a cat. At 1 AM, while the spotlights from outside blasted right into the room like I was about to be interrogated, the mini-fridge started making noises like a dying robot, after searching for the source of the irritating noise I found it and unplugged it Couldn’t sleep after that. Told the front desk the next morning. They promised to send someone right away. Spoiler: no one came. For a hotel that acts like it’s still fancy, the hallways smell like a grandma’s attic. ZaZa might’ve been cool once. Now? Not so much. Friendly staff can’t fix a bright light, a noisy fridge, or that old-hotel smell. "

"I travel often for business and leisure, and this was one of the most disappointing stays I’ve experienced. We booked based on price, amenities, and reviews, while attending an event at the George R. Brown Convention Center, about 1.4 miles away. Check-in was quick but cold and unprofessional. The room looked fine at first, but a closer inspection revealed stains on the toilet, mold on the curtains, a foul-smelling carpet, and missing essentials like shower gel and toilet paper. The room phone didn’t work, requests were ignored, and we had to go to the lobby ourselves. The lockbox was broken, the TV remote had no batteries, and the A/C drains into the shower, dripping water while you bathe. The shuttle service is misleading and unacceptable. It does not allow people with diverse disabilities, is not ADA-compliant, does not allow service animals, pets, or even families with children, only adults. It only runs within 1 mile, forcing you to walk the rest, and operates strictly on the hour with zero flexibility. Pickup never happened despite repeated calls. Staff showed no accountability. Housekeeping failed to restock basics, and requests were ignored. We ended up buying essentials ourselves. This hotel is poorly maintained, poorly managed, and falsely advertised. Do not fall into this tourist trap. I would not recommend it and would have preferred a full refund."

"I loved the elevator and I’m usually scared of elevators, but there’s beautiful"

"It will be a stunning hotel.. eventually. It is still basically a construction site. Construction workers all over the place & construction dust everywhere. We got stuck in the elevator because they turned the electric off.. when we said something to the front desk, they said "oh, yeah the construction guys had to turn off the power for a little bit". If you're booking 6-8 months since this post, then I'm sure your stay will be beautiful. If it's before that, I would bring a hard hat."

"Room needs fixtures replaced. Towel holder not in good condition and bath tub spigot needs to be worked on. The door security latch is broken and the mattress is way too soft. Staff was very helpful."
