After very long and delayed flight, I phoned at about 8pm local time, but no-one to take call so I left my name and number for call back. I tried again 10 minutes later. Again, no-one available. I tried a third time but no-one available.
Being in a strange country, extremely tired after long flight, we had no choice but to get taxi. Cost $65.
On check-in, I told receptionist who confirmed I had used correct number. She asked me to speak to manager next morning to arrange reimbursement.
Apartment was OK and after a good night’s sleep, I spoke to manager. He checked my phone and confirmed that I had used the correct number 3 times. He even used my phone to dial the number and it rang on his desk. He apologised and promised to investigate, contact me by email and refund me with my out-of-pocket costs [which would be $55].
After a week, I emailed the company and the response really shocked me. He claimed there was no record of me contacting them [basically calling me a liar] even after seeing the calls on my phone. He said that he would “meet me half way” and credit me with 30 dollars. I replied that I did not accept this offer as we were $55 out-of-pocket. I got no response.
After a few days I got a credit of 19p [30 cents] to my account. I contacted him again [very annoyed] and a further £15.81 [so total of about 30 dollars] was added to my account.
I contacted manager again but no response.
I would not recommend."
