Last minute booking - wonderful room with 2 double beds and fantastic view over Marine parade and cliffs. Comfortable beds. Excellent hot shower. Fluffy towels. Good selection for breakfast and good value for money. Staff very friendly personable and welcoming. Excellent night's sleep. A lovely all rounder.

The original room we were allocated was a bit small so we changed to the family room. At an off peak price it was good value and I would summarise it as a cheap and cheerful hotel. The staff were all very friendly. The breakfast at £6.95 per person was enjoyable. I would return but only at off peak prices.

Traveling as a single person I felt very safe, I loved the single room that was comfortable, had everything you could possibly need.Lorraine who helped with the breakfast was absolutely wonderful, she is an asset to the Hotel.I would recommend the Halycon to anyone looking to stay in the area.I would live a return visit. The owner was very accommodating with a late check in. Loved the whole experience.

Perfect

We had a wonderful stay. The staff made sure that we felt like home. Especially big thanks to Sue for all the tips for must see must do and must eat’s. The room was perfect ( we booked extra nights). Good breakfast served with a friendly smile every day a treat.

The room was lovely, nicely decorated and clean. Everything looked new so I think the rooms have been very recently decorated. Staff member who checked us in and showed us to our room was friendly and helpful.

Pros: room looked nice and modern, everything was tidy and clean and cleaning service was great.the windows were nice and big and the view vas nice as well Cons: the mattress in room 8 was terible, it needs replacing as could feel every spring and when siting down you just sink through it. The room was cold in the morning and there was a weird smell in the hallway when you reach around second floor.

Solo trip post hiking the Seven Sister's Cliffs. A beautiful and calm place to go to after a challenging hike. My room had a gorgeous view of the English Channel and the entire room and bathroom felt like you were staying in a top spa accommodation. Breakfast was of an array of nice choices. I will come again with my family!

A boarding house pretending to be a hotel

Had dropped our bags off earlier in the day, got back to hotel at 10pm, night porter wanted to go eventhough the details say it is manned until 10:30. Porter offered no help with our bags, 2 women up stairs. While sections of the hotel have been updated the reception has the most terrible threadbare carpet. Breakfast is basic served by people who only come in for that. So the hotel is unmanned during the night.

I booked a double and ended up getting room 9 at the top with a fantastic view. It was spacious, modern and the en-suite bathroom was lovely. I would definitely book again as so convenient.
