"Everything was nice and cozy. The hotel was too unique to function. The toilet was cute looking but it wasn't big enough to be comfortable. The sink didn't have a back splash or enough counter space. Still a nice hotel and excellent staff."

"What an impressive stay this was! Fahmi in particular was 11/10 on service. He looked after us from the minute we checked in till our final night with recommendations and helpful hints and tips. He was a pleasant smile every day when we got up and come back at night. Truely exemplary service at the hotel. Even to the point of asking the taxi driver to move the seat forward for my partners long legs in the back. Loved the water access in the room and convenience this gave us to be able to drink freely. Steamer and hairdryer in room. Welcome drink. Maybe a suggestion for a top sheet on the bed but otherwise truely 5 star hotel."

"Fantastic place! Bedrooms were spacious, comfortable and spotless. All amenities were well appointed and maintained. Breakfast and dining options were excellent as well as the bar - very cozy. Location was excellent too. Everything we wanted to city in town was within walking distance or a short Grab ride away."

"Everyone was very kind and concerned about our experience. The hotel is beautiful and located on the edge of the historic area. The rooms are comfortable. They serve an amazing breakfast and tea. When on the first day, restaurant staff learned I was a vegetarian, they went and made special food for me! Then, afterwards they checked in with me to make sure I had a good selection. Quite amazing. A wonderful choice in Penang."

"We had a very pleasant stay overall. For a refurbished property, the room was impressively clean, spacious, and well-maintained. The views were beautiful too—whether facing the city or the sea, both offered a lovely backdrop to our stay. The staff throughout the hotel were warm, helpful, and welcoming, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Their hospitality was genuinely appreciated. We slept very well for most of our stay. However, on our final night, there were recurring loud sounds coming from the water piping system between approximately 1am and 3am. I’m not certain of the cause, but it was noticeable enough to disrupt our sleep. It may be worth having the piping checked. The pool area was pleasant and enjoyable. One small suggestion would be to have staff make occasional rounds to monitor tidiness and safety around the pool. There were quite a few crows around during our visit, and they seemed rather interested in guests’ belongings left on the sunbeds. Breakfast was another highlight—generous in variety and well-prepared. I would happily recommend it, especially for guests looking to avoid the more tourist-oriented prices around the Gurney Drive area while still enjoying a satisfying meal. Overall, it was a great stay with excellent value, comfortable accommodations, and wonderful service. With a little attention to the unusual water piping noise, the experience would have been even better."
