"We recently spent an amazing week at Zoco Riad and can’t say enough good things about it. First let me say that if you are looking for first class luxury and all the pampering that comes with it, go to the Hilton or other big name hotel in the new part of town, but if you want to experience a real Moroccan Riad, in the old historic medina in a true family run setting, there is no better place in Tangier. Upon arrival Isla and Ahmad make you feel right at home by serving you fresh mint tea and Moroccan sweets, the rooms are small but authentic, the Riad is traditionally tasteful with many old world touches. Every morning you are served a traditional Moroccan breakfast of fresh fruits, amazing breads, local jams and honey, eggs, fresh squeezed orange juice,coffee and tea. There is a very pretty roof terrace where you can have your breakfast served while enjoying the sounds of the medina coming to life in the morning. The family who grew up in the Medina, put their heart into making this a great experience for anyone wishing to get a true taste of Tangier and Medina life. "

"It’s sad to see a hotel like this in such a terrible state. It almost looks abandoned from outside, very low maintenance of the amenities. However, the location is great, close to the Kasbah and old Medina, staff very friendly, breakfast is very nice, great view from the room’s balcony. The hotel needs some serious renovation though. It deserves better."

"Perfect location! The hospitality from all the staff was exceptional! Book their airport transfer to make arrival easy. It was 30 MAD. Otherwise, a taxi will have to drop you outside the Medina and it will be hard to locate the hotel. Perfect stay in Tangier! Able to walk to all the sights and spend time in charming cafes right outside the hotel. Change money at one of the many places on the street outside the hotel to get a much better rate. "

"The hotel is in a great location - not far from the train station or ferry port, and walking distance to the Kasbah. The staff were very friendly on our arrival. The bar was nice and the food at the restaurant was tasty - though the breakfast had a wild amount of baked goods/pastries for one table (it seemed wasteful to serve that much). Since we visited in March, we did not use the pool and it seemed not prepared for guests though I'm sure in the summer it would be lovely. The rooms were perfect for what we needed though a bit dated in appearance. If you are looking for an affordable hotel in a great location, I'd definitely recommend this place. "

"Cons: dirty bed sheet. blocked shower room that soaked my feet. Terrace and swimming pool closed but not stated clearly when I booked. It's an old hotel. Facilities and rooms are more like a so-so 3-star hotel. Not worth the money. Pros: nice breakfast with seaview; free parking on the ground floor."
