The smell of wet dog and vaping were throughout the room. The bathroom door wood not shut. The hot water faucet in the sink area was very hard to turn on and there was not a stopper in the sink. The air conditioning did work, and it was fine at keeping the temperature. But honestly the odors made me feel like it was grimy. The rest was a clean and neat experience. Check in was a breeze - all electronic.

The rooms were very clean, and contactless check-in made it quick and simple. The place was quiet and had a gas station next door, so you could grab a quick snack before bed. I will definitely stay there again.

This was our first time staying at the Trail Inn, and we were not disappointed. Though it's not "fancy", it seems to have been recently renovated, and was spotlessly clean with ample parking. Our room had new carpet and other flooring, excellent A/C unit, light-blocking window coverings, comfortable beds, new Roku TV, microwave and larger mini-refrigerator. For the price, it was perfect for us. We would stay there again when in Grantsburg.

We’ve stayed here for years and it’s always been convenient, comfortable and friendly. Apparently the former owner sold, and now the room check in is all done virtually, which we’ve not had to deal with before. It was a surprise at check in to have no front desk, and nobody on site to assist. We had to initiate a zoom like call for help getting keys. The remote agent was helpful and we got keys, and it worked ok. She was in Canada. I’d rather deal with a local, on site manager and have some personal interaction. It worked. Hotel was clean, newly painted, comfortable.

Tub literally had cracks and holes, felt as if I was going to fall through the floor, connecting 2nd room door had an obvious “fist” hole covered up with white duct tape and then the toilet flooded (with only urine thankfully) and called emergency number and front desk 4 times with no answer and told housekeeping and still no one came! Sheets were clean, but floors and showers were very dirty

The room was very clean. The beds were very comfortable. The amenities were fine. The check in was good. I had no complaints except when our TV went out and the internet was out we had no one to turn to to help us because no one was there to help. No staff on duty is a problem. A phone number in the rooms that you can call with a problem would be nice.

There weren't any people around at check in - it is all by phone and email and codes. Very easy. Our room had an odor and we called the number given. They explained why it may have a smell but it would go away quickly and it did. Everything was clean. Microwave and refrigerator in the room. Great price!

The room was clean, and the staff was friendly. Did not use the on site laundry, but it was conveniently located— as was parking. My only complaint would be that the listing suggested soundproofing in the rooms, which was not the case. We could hear pretty much everyone around us, but it did not spoil our visit
