"The George in Hathersage is ideally located to explore the Peak District National Park. We had a standard room which wasn't overly large but perfectly adequate, including a large bed. The bathroom had up-to-date sanitaryware, including a fullsize bath with shower over. From the bathroom there were a few steps up to the bedroom. Central heating, tea/coffee facilities and modern furnishings. Staff were lovely to deal with whether in Reception, or the bar, or in the restaurant where breakfast was served. Full dinner menu was also available every evening and a rather quaint service of serving pizza cooked to order all day. Car park was quite spacious, including two EV charging points, and had a barrier to control entry and exit. No hesitation in recommending The George for your stay in the Peak District. "

"The house was ideal for our family get together. It was a spacious property and the calm was calm and inkeeping with the property; some lovely art work.The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking for 8 people. The property was ideal for taking a dog as had a good outside space.We appreciated the cake, home-cooked bread and milk on arrive - this was a lovely touch! "

"Our stay was a journey down memory lane for me. The hotel was still lovely and popular, the room was clean and albeit small as a twin, it was in keeping with such a historic building and the lady on the bar, who checked us in couldn’t be more welcoming. The kitchen even catered amazingly for a veggie and a vegan option breakfast. The hotel is centrally located for the beautiful village of Eyam’s history trail, tea rooms and local walks with good parking facilities. "

"Lovely hosts, and a very well appointed cottage in a great location. Can't think of anything that was not provided, and a cosy cottage with a much-enjoyed log-burner. We hope to return soon !"
