"Really enjoyed our break at the Royal Oak hotel, Easy check in, very quiet room and comfortable Could not fault anything. Meals were lovely Breakfast was to die for very good quantity produce, really set us up for the day. Staff and manager were very attentive. Looking forward to staying hear again."

"Stayed with my son overnight on our trip to climb Helwellyn. Did the climb prior to checking in, as check in was from 3pm. Asked in advance if we could use the car park upon our arrival in the morning & it was no problem. Once we checked in, the room was good with a modern ensuite, ironing board, hair-dryer and coffee facilities. All the staff were friendly with a nicely stocked bar and it was fine to book a table for our evening meal. The menu had a good choice of meat and vegetarian options. We had the burger and the homemade steak pudding, which were both filling and tasty. Just what we needed after a strenuous day climbing. Decent night's sleep, a bit of traffic noise but it is the main route throught the centre of the Lake District, so not unexpected. We left early, so didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that. Would we return? Yes."

"Had a fantastic stay at Brandlehow. The location is unbeatable, with stunning views over Derwentwater and direct access to the lake. The cottage was comfortable and well-equipped, with everything we needed for a relaxing family break. We especially loved spending time in the garden taking in the incredible scenery. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Lake District."

"A couple of things- the fridge isn't working very well- I appreciate it was very hot last week but it was difficult to get the fridge to the correct temperature. The refuse and recycling bins were not collected whilst we were there and had not been collected the previous week either as they were very full"
