"Booked this hotel May stayed here years ago and wanted to take my parents back. It's a little dated but could not fault the breakfast or entertainment. Sally on reception is a credit to the hotel she was so friendly and helpful. Places are walkable about 10-15 mins to the beach and local bars. Would return "
"A converted Georgia/Victorian property renovated in a cottage style to a good standard with all the facilities you could want/need. It's location gave us the opportunity to tour the island with ease. "
"We stayed in an appartment across from the hotel. Very good spot for beach and transport. Was very clean but needed plenty of updating. Rotton window in bathroom which also looked very tired. The whole room did need a re vamp but served us very well."
"The property is spacious and is well placed for access to the town. However we found the lack of parking to be an added anxiety at the end of the day. Although told we could park in Co-op the signs said it closed with the shop at 8pm so we didn't risk it.Also the windows were extremely hard to open and close and didn't provide any noise reduction from the the very busy road. Buses ran until midnight and glazier and Co-op were both un/loading by 7am.We also had a ring doorbell go at 8.30 on 2 mornings and no one there. It could do with a washing line as wet towels became difficult to dry when there were 6 of us showering."
"If you use a wheelchair make sure you state this when booking. Accessible suites are only available on the 2nd floor and the lift does not go to the third floor. We were on the third so we had some steps to use and drag the chair up. An access ramp is at the side of the building but, if you cannot do stairs, you have to wheel through the outside bar patio in the front, into the back of the bar, through the restaurant and out into the lobby. Very small lift as well if you have a lot of baggage and a wheelchair. Make sure you order your meals AT THE BAR. We were not told this at check in (although they made a reservation for us at the restaurant they neglected to mention we had to go to the bar to order) and we sat for 15 minutes waiting to flag a server! The hotel itself was nice (we had adjoining rooms) and rooms were clean and comfortable. It was very noisy though as you are on a main road (lots of motor bikes!), noise from the patio at the bar and noise from people entering and leaving the building. I'm not sure we would stay there again, but it was great experience staying at an historical building right on the Ryde seafront. "
