Nice room with great view on 19th floor. Very comfortable beds and a very spacious room and bath. Could use some in-room items like fridge, coffee, water bottles for a more complete set-up. Restaurant food for okay and pools were abundant and well maintained. Would be nice to have an adult area or private area to escape noise. Pool towel program seemed archaic especially when multiple rooms are sharing towels. Would stay here again if opportunity becomes available.

So disappointed. We arrived at 5, and were taken to our rooms, but given no information about directions, how to get to the pool, restaurants, etc. Activity reservations and dinner restaurants both closed at 5, and all activity had to be reserved the day before, so despite spending two nights at the resort, we were unable to do any activities. The pool closes at 6, so the first day we had just gotten in and were told to get out because they were closing. There were roaches in our room- several including in the kitchen and bedroom, all alive (except the one that eat in the refrigerator). When we asked to change rooms, it took nearly half an hour, which was frustrating because we were exhausted and wanted to go to bed. The staff was all nice, but no directing at all as to what restaurants were open at what time, other things to do, etc. When the pool closed I asked what there was to do besides sit in our room and the staff said "nothing, really. " Roaches, none of the promised activities, and am overall awful experience. The staff was really nice, though.

The staff was excellent. Yaneli at Oyster Bar went out of her way to ensure our dinner experience was great. Miguel, Bryan, Rafael, and Roger and the cooks at Colores were friendly and attentive excellent service. Nayeli at the archery range was excellent as well. She made it fun and safe. Kudos to all the staff they made it a wonderful stay.

Enjoyed the fact that this truly an all inclusive resort. They had activities included! My favorite was the bike ride through the national park. The staff were all very kind and attentive. The shows at night were also great and different every night. Really enjoyed my stay!

All the people that works there were very nice and the food was good. The only bad experience was in the reception, with the receptionist at the time of checking in and also at the time of checking out they were not friendly and they have bad attitude. We didn’t feel welcome at that time.

Beautiful resort, however I would not go back, the breakfast buffet was excellent but dinners were poor quality. The staff were lovely and kind but very little English speaking. Location was beautiful but far from any attractions.

-We arrived at 1pm to the Hotel’s gate and they didn’t want to let us in if we didn’t pay $800 per person because “access” was until 1:30pm.—Many of the restaurants were closed. Staff was super nice, food was ok, nothing great but ok.

I really love my stay at the Azul Resort. The only thing that I didn’t like was at the time of check in and also at the time of check out. The receptionists was rude and she didn’t made me feel welcome at time of my arrival. I made two reservations under my husband’s name and some how there was a confusion in the reservations. It came out to be that one of the reservations was under my son’s name. And he never did the reservations. I ended up getting another room. The rest of the staff was very friendly and courteous.

Staff was very nice and food had good flavor. The property does need up keeping. Adult pool cement rock falling apart and broken. Definitely need’s repairing. Rooms did not have a mini fridge or coffee maker. No place to keep cold waters. Drinks were not provided in room. It was also very hard to get drinks at the swim up bar. Bartenders wouldn’t acknowledge you.

The property itself definitely needs some updating, there’s different restaurants available but they are by reservation only and depending on how long your stay is it determines the number of times you can visit a “speciality” restaurant. The pools even though they are decent size are extremely shallow for adults, wish there was Atleast one pool equipped for a grown adult. We had breakfast and one of the buffets and were told no mimosas only on the weekend, that seemed a little off. No room service and no stocked mini fridge. The staff was great though that’s something that I cannot complain about Fernando at check in time even though it was hectic really made things work for us. This is a pet friendly hotel so just be mindful of that you will hear dogs parking in common areas.

Disappointing Stay – Poor Check-In Process and Underwhelming Amenities Unfortunately, our experience at this resort did not meet expectations. The check-in process was frustrating—despite our Expedia booking clearly including our child, we were charged an additional fee upon arrival. There was extensive back-and-forth communication between hotel management and an Expedia representative, but no resolution was provided. Neither party took responsibility for the miscommunication, and we, as guests, were left to absorb the extra cost. The dining experience was also disappointing. The main buffet offered only two or three main dishes with little variety, and the food was often served cold. The only exception was the reservation-only restaurant, which had slightly more variety. However, the service there was extremely slow, and meals were again served cold or after long delays, making it hard to enjoy the experience. The beach was another letdown—strong currents and waves made it unsafe and unenjoyable for swimming or relaxing on the sand. On a positive note, the staff at the restaurants and bars were friendly and attentive, and the evening entertainment with the dancers was a bright spot during our stay. Despite a few highlights, the overall experience was disappointing, and I would not recommend this resort until significant improvements are made.
