"The bed was lumpy on one side and firm on the other. You have to discover the side you like! We were given a room on the first floor, facing the laundry on one side and the parking on another. When I asked to have a better room, I was told that there were no other rooms for what I paid. The room was expensive so I wonder if it’s because we reserved with Expedia that we got one of the worse rooms in the place."

"Just like your old uncle’s house. Funky orange carpet, pull string blinds, yellow fridge and cupboards in a color not found at ikea. Fireplace in the house. Firepit in the yard. Baseboard electric heat. In the winter you may need to start a fire to keep the house warm. Nice and clean. Water was hot. We walked to the San Antonio hot springs from the house. Delightful. Quick a hike back up when you head home but saves you a long drive to the main trail if you are up to the hike. On the way back Spence hot springs is on the left."

"Our stay at the Alpaca Barnhaus was wonderful overall, with all the comforts and amenities could have wanted. We had a few communications missteps due to spotty cell service, but our host worked hard to smooth the rough spots (absence of GPS navigation, texting, and phone service). Plan ahead."
