The Revolution Hotel

"The Revolution Hotel has a beautiful and stylish lobby with a modern vibe. However, for guests who need to work remotely, the seating arrangements are not very practical. The high chairs around the tables are quite uncomfortable for extended periods, and while the sofas are more comfortable, they are not suitable for working with a laptop. The room itself was extremely small, and the bathroom layout was also inconvenient and uncomfortable. While the hotel has a trendy atmosphere and may appeal to younger travelers, I would not recommend it for guests in our age group. It seems much better suited for people in their twenties or early thirties who prioritize location and style over comfort and space. Overall, the hotel has a youthful, boutique feel and an attractive common area, but for mature travelers looking for comfort, functionality, and a more spacious room, there are better options available in Boston. "This is nice if expensive boutique hotel minutes from Harvard Square with underground parking. Our room was comfortable and luxurious. There is free excellent pod coffee (not Keurig) in the lobby and they will valet your car in and out of the garage which is a good idea given then narrow spiral driveway. The location is 5 minutes from Harvard Yard and close to many restaurants. Great for a Harvard reunion."

"Used this hotel for new balance nationals in Feb. walked to the meet every day. It was a bit of a hike but nothing too crazy. Loved the room. Nice and clean and loved the crushed ice and water option on the ice machine. Also loved that there was a noise machine in the room, a decent breakfast and billiards table and pretty art in the lobby!"

"Atlas was immaculate in many ways. Some of the staff were also very helpful. The issues lie in unpreparedness given how new it is. e.g. For the price point, I would not have expected pounding music above me from the restaurant till past 1am. When I called the front desk to inquire at 10:30pm about the loud bass and music, the response was “Do you need earbuds? Can I have someone send up earbuds? How about a noise machine?” When I could not even hear my TV and my heart was pounding from the loud bass, no earbuds or sound machine would have worked… That was highly disappointing. At the very least, Atlas should not have understood this noise travelling problem and should not have allowed the party even to have turned up the bass that high. The staff should also have been better trained with client communication. e.g. I have asked to speak with the manager to relay my discontent twice in two days. Not surprisingly, no one bothered to follow up. e.g. Restaurant - The breakfast at AMA was absolutely excellent but the portion size of the restaurant fluctuates quite a bit. A yoghurt with granola can literally halve in size depending on the day. It takes 5 minutes to find a server to do anything. Breakfast tea comes without the requested milk or sugar. When they finally come in 10 minutes, there was no spoon. So you have to wait another while for that. What was shocking was the staff was genuinely surprised I asked for a spoon to stir in the milk and sugar."

"The Harvard Square Hotel is a clean, simple hotel in a superb location in Harvard Square. The staff were nice and easy to deal with when I stayed and the beds were comfortable. Everything is kept very sanitary and nice. The only problem is that the amenities are less than I would expect for the price of the room. There is no coffee maker or hot water kettle in the guest room, only in the main reception lobby. So, the only way to get a wakeup cup of coffee in the morning or bedtime tea at night is to come down to the lobby in public where hot drinks are available. This is disappointing and unusual for a hotel room in a busy location where many people are there from distant time zones, to attend conferences or other time-critical events. Also, in my room, the plumbing was a little unreliable with the toilet failing to flush about 40% of the time. Fixing these small things would make the hotel an excellent, comfortable place to stay."

"The entire hotel decorating is warm, cozy and beautiful. We enjoyed the breakfast and the lounge room with fireplace. I enjoyed reading one of the books in the lounge while I drank coffee and ate a warm biscuit. Maggie was an outstanding hostess. It felt more like a high end bed and breakfast than a hotel. It was a memorable stay. We took photographs of the decorating because we wanted to remember some of the layers of color and texture."
