  • One of the northernmost towns along the coast in North Carolina, Duck is an idyllic town on the shores of the Currituck Sound. This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze. Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Annual Vacay!

Fantastic property! Quiet neighborhood with private beach access. House was well msintained with many amenities, such as cooking pans and utensils. Only issue was the driveway. Landscape pebbles were used and the minivan got stuck. Took a little effort, but was able to get out of the loose and thick pebbles. Depending on your vehicle, stay to the right to be safe. Plenty of beach chairs to use and kid toys as well. Highly recommended!

Best house in OBX ever

I have been coming to the OBX for over 25 years. This was one of my favorite houses we have ever stayed in. The layout of the house was great. The best part of the house was how well stocked it was. There was everything you could possibly need and more. It was also very clean. The location to the beach was wonderful. We loved our stay!

Excellent Beautiful Property

Excellent property, had everything we needed, wonderful location to walk straight out to the ocean. Even though it was not ocean front, it felt like it was ocean front. Each bedroom was pretty secluded for privacy and there were plenty of bathrooms. The kitchen and living area were beautiful. Dining room table sat 8, there was another small table that sat 4 and a bar that sat 4. There was also a separate play area/ living room for the children with tons of board games and toys in the closet. House was in a great location with many restaurants near by. Will definitely be renting again.
