What could be better than a waterfront log cabin in the mountains? Our spacious home is located in beautiful Shumont Estates, Lake Lure, North Carolina.

This property is 3,400+ square feet and has five bedrooms, three full bathrooms (jacuzzi tub in the master bath), a full kitchen, a 55" smart LED TV with DVD player in the downstairs recreation room, 55" smart LED TV with DVD player in upstairs great-room, TV's in both the Master bedroom and downstairs queen bedroom with DirecTV. 32” LED TVs with Roku (no cable) in the other upper queen bedrooms, WiFi throughout the house, full size washer and dryer, and four burner propane gas grill on the deck. 12 cup coffee maker and single-serve Keurig in kitchen. Gorgeous pine floors upstairs and carpet downstairs. Ping Pong, Foosball table, and card table are located in the downstairs Rec Room for tons of family fun! An extra 20.2 cu ft refrigerator is located downstairs to accommodate any extra storage needs.

The large deck off the great room has a beautiful view of 12-acre Shumont Lake with new steps added from deck to firepit and dock. The private dock with rowboat is perfect for swimming and fishing (several life jackets at the property) and the new firepit by the water is ready for an evening enjoyment of smores and lake views. Enjoy the quiet peacefulness of a private lake and lot by relaxing on deck with a cup of coffee or glass of wine.

Rental of this property includes the use of Rumbling Bald Resort amenities which are less than 5 minutes away. Amenities include two golf courses, tennis, pickleball, and basketball courts, three swimming pools (one with a lazy river), miniature golf, beach area, marina, exercise equipment and spa/salon, and more. Rumbling Bald also has several restaurants.

No pets allowed (no exceptions, sorry). No Smoking. Linens (sheets, bath towels, blankets, pillows) are provided at no cost. Guests need to bring only beach towels. Initial supplies will include one roll of paper towels and starter dishwasher tablets in kitchen and one roll of toilet paper for each bathroom. Guests will need to bring or purchase any additional needed items for the duration of their stay.

This is a perfect location for family vacations! Up to 10 can easily share this home. Also convenient for golf vacations. Within easy driving distance to Asheville (great restaurants, shopping, and downtown!), Hendersonville, Charlotte and Greenville. A trip to the Biltmore Estate in Asheville is a must!

This home has a spacious floor plan with wide doorways. Single-floor living is an option as 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room, and kitchen are all on the entry level. Great for those who prefer not to go up and down stairs.

4pm check-in and 10am check-out - we need that time to provide a thorough cleaning between guests.

Important Notice: There will be 10 guest passes to Rumbling Bald Resort on the kitchen counter when you arrive. The passes must be left on the counter when you depart. Rumbling Bald charges $50 for replacement cards - any cards lost or missing will be deducted from your deposit. The neighborhood does not allow motorcycles or any trailers in the neighborhood, so if you would like to bring a motorcycle, you will need to park it at Rumbling Bald Resort and drive back to the house in a car.

What a beautiful home. It was well-stocked, clean, and spacious. We stayed with extended family, 10 people total, and appreciated that we could all sit at the table together for meals. We really enjoyed being able to get out on the water or sit on the dock to relax and fish.

Family wedding trip

We spent two night while attending a family wedding. We had a great time at the cabin and even enjoyed some yoga on the deck with the lovely mountain and lake view. As a group walked the neighborhood for exercise before heading to the wedding venue. It was a great stay

Peaceful and Family Friendly

We had an excellent stay at this home! It was quiet and peaceful and had all the things a family could need - from kayaks to board games, all ages enjoyed this home. A reasonable drive away from Chimney Rock/Lake Lure or Apple Valley if you’re looking to branch out but perfect if you’re looking to hunker down. We will absolutely stay again!

Amazing Vacation Home

We absolutely loved our stay and will definitely be back. Our kids asked if we could move there! Jason was easy to get in contact with, the house was beautiful and perfect for our group, and swimming off the dock in the lake was a blast. There's so much to do in the area- we can't wait to come back and enjoy it all over again.

Mountain Birthday’s Celebration

Lovely Retreat

This log cabin is amazing! It has dock access to a small, quiet, private neighborhood lake. The wooded lot was beautiful. The house was very clean and had many small things we needed. The addition of membership to the pool and beach area at Rumbling Bald on Lake Lure was an excellent amenity that we used often. Would stay here again!

Beautiful

Very beautiful and peaceful home located on a small lake. Plenty of room for everyone. We had a blast fishing, going out on the rowboat and it was very close to the resort. The resort was very nice as well. The guys went golfing at nearby courses. Thank you for sharing the home with us!

Peaceful Getaway

The property is beautiful. It was a very quiet, peaceful place to enjoy. The house is gorgeous and has a lot of space. This property offered so many different things to do such as kayaking on the private lake, being able to have access to Rumbling Bald resort with lots of activities, and a game room downstairs in case of rainy days. Hiking and water sports on Lake Lure were a short distance to drive. It offers a bit of everything

Great cabin experience!

We absolutely loved the cabin on the little lake! Awesome that the Runbling Bald passes are included because you can literally do so many things there. The windy roads and mountain feel was just what we wanted. The host (Jason) was very responsive to all of our questions we had as well. Short drive to Asheville to explore around their too. Definitely recommend doing chimney rock to take hikes or see the flowering bridge and get some food/ beverages.

Beautiful cabin in a beautiful location

Our family of ten ranging from 5-71 including two teens had a amazing time in Lake Lure. The cabin was well appointed and the accommodations were perfect for our family groups. The dining table with seating for many provided the perfect place for sharing meals and many lively card games. Mornings and late evenings with a cup of coffee on the porch were the best. We enjoyed the lake and fire pit area at the cabin and took advantage of many of the activities at the resort. The fireworks show was one of the best we have ever seen. Thanks for providing a place for another memorable family vacation.

Fabulous Property

The property, layout, furnishings and appointments are all exceptional. We were in town for a wedding and unfortunately did not get to take advantage of all the amenities (fire pit, lake and watercraft and beautiful outdoor space). We did enjoy the fully equipped game room with ping pong and foosball. We had one slight issue with the door code as we could not access Wi-Fi to view the document provided by the homeowner. Next time we will have a hard copy.

Wonderful location, beautiful lake area and since it rained almost every day, the Rumbling Bald resort access was a vacation saver! The host was responsive and the house was very clean. A wonderful choice for a large family vacation!
The weather did not cooperate, but access to Rumbling Bald was a wonderful alternative! Also lived the indoor pool!

We were able to go straight to the property without any issues. The house was comfortable for 10 of us. The Lake is quiet and relaxing. The water toys were used by all of us. The kitchen was well stocked and the second refrigerator was handy. The beds were comfortable, the house in great condition. The owner was responsive and always helpful.

Fantastic Home & Get-Away

We loved our stay here, including the spacious log cabin home, deck with rocking chairs and morning sunlight, dock on the water for afternoon dips in the lake and the proximity and access to Rumbling Bald Resort. All in all, a really special place.
