"I was met by the owner Passi who was waiting for me. I had booked into one of the apartments but wes told that I was staying in one of the cottages by the lake. Passi took me to the cottage which has its own wood burning sauna and stunning views looking out to Lake Orivesi. It was really peaceful and it has its own private beach and a rowing boat plus a swing which I must admit I spent quite a bit of time on there. The centre of Kitee is about 20 minutes away in a car so if like me you do not...

"What used to be a family home for a well renowned global manufacturer of leather apparel, now transformed to a modest family run hotel sitting on the banks of the river. The staff very friendly, an ample breakfast spread. And a desired good night sleep after much driving. What it lacks in mod cons is more than made up with tradition and interest. "

"Seriously don’t bother staying anywhere else. I have traveled all over and this hotel was so clean, helpful, kind service, magazine photo shoot quality breakfast buffet layout (breakfast included), sauna on 8th floor, whole place was fantastic. Parking cost extra but was right under the hotel. Paid a little extra by choice for late checkout. Walked to dinner at great Nepali place, walked to the Metso library, had a great time. Even saw a long eared long legged wild rabbit run through town. "

"Nice room but loud noise all night - not from AC in the room but there was a stairwell with huge pipes nearby, which i think caused it. Also bin in bathroom was not emptied after previous guests, so that was pretty disgusting. Limited breakfast. "Lovely clean and quiet room with a view! The bed was good and very comfortable. On the other hand, the two little chairs in the room were not and I was hoping there had been at least one comfortable chair to sit in. Also the table was ridiculously small for the size of the room. The flooring material was not nice and felt more fitting for an economy hotel rather than a luxury suite. Parking was an extra fee but very convenient."
