"Very helpful staff and excellent breakfast. Parking was extra (£5- day) The room (deluxe ) was a little tired and the bath chipped. In a very old building it would have been nice to have had a small refrigerator to cool the water provided as it was very hot and, as usual, in the UK not air conditioned. The outside seating area was wonderful and cool in the evening. The breakfast was great"

"Stopped in the hotel for a couple of nights at the beginning of July. The room 111 was huge and the fan was powerful and very useful. The room was clean and I can not fault in any way. Add to this a great cooked breakfast, central location and free parking, I could not recommend high enough. I'd certainly not look elsewhere."

"The George is an amzing property and an amazing stay-- the staff is so lovely and there are so many wonderful spaces to gather, retreat, sip, savor, and enjoy. It is also rich in "character" - rooms, stairs, floors, and spaces are typical of an establishment that is more than five hundred years old. It's delightful. Amesbury, in case you wonder, is a lovely little English town with a few good restaurants and bakeries, lovely walks, and good bus connections."
