"We upgraded our room and found it very comfortable. The hotel is in a good location and the city centre is walkable so we were able to leave our car in the hotel car park. Breakfast was also very good. It is an old building and there are areas in need of tlc, such as old sash windows and creaky floors, but overall it was good value for money and we would visit again."

"Exceptional front facing room with double glazed sash windows and air conditioning, clean mondern bathroom in keeping with the recent modernisation of this beautifil building. As always a wonderful reception from the staff on arrival, large bar area, resturant and easy seating. Large car park to rear."

"Breakfast excellent .Parking should be free for hotel guests .A hairdryer & a small kettle & 2 mugs would be a very useful asset in the rooms as it isquite a way to walk to the restaurant in your nightwear for an early morning or middle of the night hot drink !!!!Otherwise an excellent stay (because we had stayed with you previously I was prepared & brought my own from home )Thankyou to all staff"

"We stayed for two nights in August 2026, the food was great with helpful staff and a large outdoor garden area for eating and drinks, lovely 19th century building with lots of old character, rooms are in need of renovation and or room (room 2) was quite dusty"
