High Tor Hotel

"Parking is off road plenty of room. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful, breakfast available but we did not use. Room clean nd fresh, bathroom very big with an enormous bath. The room was spacious and set out well. Usual tea, coffee facilities. Needed to be on a tray not a mat though. Bath sheet and hand towel each which was ample for 2 night stay. Had an Indian meal in the resteraunt. My husband is gluten free, and the staff were extremely helpful, even the chef came out to speak about the menu . Lady on reception very helpful and the lady serving in the resteraunt was very friendly. Think its a family business, only a few staff so be patient, they try very hard to please, but all extremely enjoyable . Thank you. Room 5."

"What a delightful stay from start to finish. We’ve stayed in a few places during our travels over the past couple of weeks and the Oakhill Hotel outshines them all. We received an exceptional welcome by the staff and their professionalism and friendliness was consistent throughout our stay. The rooms are well maintained, tastefully decorated and recently renovated by the looks of it. The breakfast was lovely and they catered for Gluten Free, which can be a worry when staying away. Overall a wonderful stay and we would recommend a stay."

"We, a family of four, truly enjoyed our stay at Penny Cottage. Beverly sent detailed instructions before our arrival, which were very helpful, and checked in with us by text on the first day to make sure we did not need anything else. We also really appreciated the thoughtful welcome treats on arrival: Bakewell tarts, milk, tea and hot chocolate.On arrival, everything was exactly as described: a beautiful setting, a stunning and well-maintained garden, and, of course, the gorgeous cottage itself.Penny Cottage is in the sleepy village of Bonsall, which made for a wonderfully peaceful and relaxing stay. At the same time, there are plenty of nearby villages and towns where you can find anything you need, as well as places to explore.The cottage was very clean and comfortable, and had all the equipment needed for our stay. It was a great base for exploring the surrounding area, but it also worked perfectly on the days we decided to stay in because of the weather. We enjoyed watching the rain from the window, relaxing on the comfortable sofas and chairs to watch films, and cooking meals. The kitchen was well equipped, which was ideal as we cooked almost every day. The beds were very comfortable. The shower was great too, with good water pressure and no issues with hot water.All in all, it was a very relaxing stay and we would highly recommend Penny Cottage."

"Fantastic stay – highly recommend!We had a wonderful stay at this property. Right from the beginning, the host’s instructions were spot on and really helpful, making check-in and our overall stay completely seamless.The space was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxed visit. A highlight for us was definitely the arcade machine—it was a huge hit and provided so much fun!We would definitely love to stay again and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great getaway. Thank you for hosting us!"

"Perfect B&B. Sue and John were very welcoming and couldn't have done more for us. Room was very spacious and comfortable. It was well equipped with lots of attention to detaill. Everything was spotlessly clean in the room and the communal areas. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice . Only downside was the road which was a bit challenging but we got used to it!"
