"The house’s open floor plan works well for bigger groups. Having three full baths was very helpful. The kitchen is well-appointed and the sideboard offers plenty of space for daily items with storage in the cupboards below. The two lazy boy rocker-recliners were perfect for a stay with an infant. Be sure to bring beach towels and, if cooking for an extended stay, perhaps some Tupperware. Use of the garage was very helpful and parking is ample. Best of all is the location—close to the big beach, the harbor, and town. We hope to stay again in 2026!"

"House was clean and in a good location, only 2-3 minute drive from the beach/town. Only issue that we had were the mosquitos on the property, but this is to be expected in the UP :) Molly was very responsive to anything we needed during our stay. "
Big Red a newly renovated 4 bedroom historic home in the heart of Grand Marais!

"We loved Big Red! It was perfect for our family vacation. We had 7 adults and 1 baby, and we weren't crowded at all. We loved that we could all gather in the family room at the same time to watch movies and play games. Loved the huge kitchen table for family meals. It was close to everything. We walked everywhere we went. I will be renting from them again, and cannot wait for our next stay at Big Red!"

"The property is beautiful and peaceful. After a day of hiking and sightseeing it was very nice to come back to such a serene property. My husband, I and our labrador enjoyed the lake, the privacy and all the extra attention to items that were available for our enjoyment ( outdoor fire pit, kayaks, paddle boat, indoor games, well stocked home)"
"Great being within 1 minute walking distance of beach for rock collecting, yooperlite searching and beach relaxing. Beautiful lake view from house. Comfortable beds, appear new mattresses. Good space to relax with family. The 2 bathrooms were nice with large group."

"The property was beautiful. Secluded, dark at night, very close to the water, lots of birds. The inside was very nice and taken care of. It was very close to down town. Just note there is no AC, wasn’t a big deal but something to keep in mind since one night was muggy but it wasn’t too bad. "
