"Great two night getaway. First night we dined at the onsite restaurant. Very good. Only a 15 minute ride to Meredith. Walter’s Basin was a quick walk for dinner on our second night. We took a pontoon cruise around Squam Lake. Definitely recommend this! Even better if you watch On Golden Pond before you take the cruise. Our room (The Winnipesaukee) was cozy but had ample storage space. There was a refrigerator and 24 hour coffee outside our room. Fresh baked cookies were put out in the afternoon. The stairs to the second floor were steep. Tread carefully. Ask for help with your luggage. Breakfast was delicious. If you like to swim there are no public beaches in Holderness. However, we found a great public beach in Ashland, about two miles from the inn. There were toilets/changing rooms, sandy beach, snack bar, lifeguards, parking and handicap access into the water. Free for seniors $5 if under 65. I highly recommended a stay."

"We spent two wonderful and blissful August weeks at Sharon and David's lake front property. From the moment you walk in, you realize this is a special place. The architecture, furnishings, layout, and organization show a tremendous amount of thoughtfulness and care. You could tell that this was not just a rental house. It was someone's second home. It made for an incredibly relaxing and beautiful environment. The house is very well equipped with everything we needed including a canoe, kayaks, and paddle boards. We cooked many meals in the kitchen and always found what we needed in the well organized cabinets and drawers. The hot tub was warm and clean, becoming a daily event. The beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of storage space for our clothes. The wifi has excellent bandwidth. The location is ideal. It is on a quiet road at one of the quieter spots and already quiet lake. We rarely heard any noise or even voices from the neighbors. Being at the south end of the lake it is a very convenient 10 minutes from both Merideth and Center Harbor where you can find everything you need including several grocery stores, many good restaurants, and our favorite, the Moulton Farms market. Communication with the hosts (Sharon) was seamless and pleasant. We couldn't have asked for a better stay."

Central Escape is a spacious Lakes Region retreat just 5 minutes from downtown Meredith, less than a mile to Squam Lake and 20 minutes to concerts at the Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion. Enjoy the private year-round hot tub, fire pit, yard games!

"Beautiful property on the very special Squam Lake. The house has so much room for a large group, we were able to spread out along the waterfront dock area, front deck, and screen porch. Lots of activities to do on the water, plus the tennis court was a really nice bonus. When it rained, plenty of room in the house for indoor activities. Private location, comfortable beds, spectacular sunset views. House had all the equipment and linens that we needed."

"Absolutely amazing property; I cannot say enough about about it! The house, the gorgeous view of Squam Lake, the property and private beach, are just nothing less than stunning! My husband, myself, 4 adult children and 2 significant others stayed the week and there was more than enough space. The house has been kept to its era with modern updates to the kitchen and bathroom; we love that the house has kept it’s original personality. The Squam Market Place is also another compliment to the area. It is a quaint market with baked goods, a sandwich shop and anything else you may need. Walter’s Basin, a restaurant on the lake also cannot be left out; they too were amazing! Our whole family had a perfect week! We most certainly hope to be back!!"

"This place by far was a great experience, I had an excellent time there it may not look like much but the quietness and the tranquillity was well worth it. Some may not be too happy with the spotty cellar signal but I saw it as a way to “unplug” and enjoy the moments shared, and the staff were super helpful they went above and beyond to make sure my time there was the best possible. I can say I’ve found a favorite place to stay when I’m in the area. And hope this place gets the attention it deserves, Because the experience was worth it"
