"The hotel is esthetically pleasing. Everything is obviously new. Location was great. Close enough to the airport, and the action of bars restaurants & beach that was more of “the locals” beach…but still was set up with some plastic chairs to enjoy the ocean. Back to the hotel- the 2 elevators take forever, moving very slow between ground & the 18 floors. Especially during “rush hour” times. Specifically breakfast Buffett hours. No clear stairway-should you want to go from the restaurant on the 2nd floor down to ground. The room we stayed in was “a presidential suite” the size was good. Very high ceilings & again very aesthetically pleasing. I think they’re still trying to figure things out though with items that are the norm in hotels. There were no wash clothes, and very minimal towels to use. No towel rack storage, nor no hook to hang up any towels. Minimal trash can. Closet was by the door that u enter- next to the living space. Just small things, that we noticed that we would typically take for granted. (Maybe these things wouldn’t bother you )"

"We stayed in the honeymoon room which had beautiful views of the walled city and the clock tower. Our room also came with a hot tub on the balcony which was nice! The hotel doesn’t have a pool and breakfast is a very simple selection of coffee, tea, cereal, fruits, a few choices of bread and a meats & cheeses board. I personally enjoyed my stay and it was a pretty safe hotel (located on the 5th floor of the popular bank building which has a security desk on the first floor)"

"The staff was excellent. Everybody made sure you feel good and enjoy your stay. The location was perfect. Easy access to everything. I would definitely recommend it. "

"My experience at this hotel is not pleasant. The room is quite different from the picture. We got a room with such layout and the first night the sheets were not clean. The restroom is completely dark at night. The service was good and they send things we need. However, my friend asked for coffee and they told us to get some coffee at the restaurant and charged one cup 3 dollars. They have coffee machine and can make coffee, but I do not understand we got charged for the bad coffee in the restaurant area. Also, we booked at Expedia and every night the price is more than normal price on Expedia. They explained it was because of the algorithm. We checked the prices for the future days, but it shows that we were overcharged and they refused any refund. Overall, we felt that we were cheated. The location is good but it is not worth the money at all. We never got the free wine it says on Expedia website."

"This hotel is 10000/10. Location was perfect. Getsemani is right out the back door, if going to Rosario islands the port is across the street as well as the walled city and La Torre Del Reloj. The rooftop bar, food and view were excellent. The hotel was clean, cute and had a great breakfast buffet or you could order from a menu at the table. We received exceptional service and care from Luis Alfonso. He assisted us with everything from restaurant recommendations to booking us a taxi at 4 am for our early flight. I cannot say enough great things about Luis or GHL Arsenal. You will not regret staying here. If we were to come back to Cartagena we would stay here again. The concierge also booked us a Rosario island tour of our choice and the boat was big, beautiful and most importantly very safe. Compared to the boats used when booking tours through street vendors or the shops in town. Highly recommend booking with the hotel directly. "

"I do not recommend Cartagena at all. It’s a tourist trap. Not tourist friendly at all. They will scam you once in the city, street vendors are extremely aggressive even after you say no to them, all prices are much more expensive for tourists, service everywhere is slow, unfriendly locals, horrible infrastructure, the list goes on. It’s unfortunate because the city itself is beautiful but overall experience was a scam. The airport situation was a disaster as well, 2 hr long immigration lines and leaving the gates there were no organization it was a free for all situation to get on board. We had to cut our trip short and went home early. Don’t go! "
