"We had a lovely time at Quarry Lodge. The house is very spacious and comfortable and lies beautifully in a valley of the Lydney Park estate. We booked the hot tub too which proved to be a very relaxing experience in September, looking out over the fields and forrest. There are several pubs and restaurants nearby that serve good food but be aware that they don’t serve food on Sunday afternoon."
A rural house on the edge of the Forest of Dean with 3 pubs within a short walk.

"Very relaxing with all the amenities you would need. Such a quiet surrounding, no traffic noise. Wonderful views over the valley shared with hundreds of pheasants coming out the woods every morning. Woke up to deer, squirrels, birds of prey etc. very comfortable bed, I loved just sitting on the decking listening to the wildlife. Only negatives was it stated a wheelbarrow in car park area to take baggage to hut but it was not there. Also the lovely large shower head did not work, only the handset worked but was fine. I made a couple repairs myself to a tap handle as it was very loose and the cafetière handle was about to fall off so tightened that too. The lounge chairs are ok but not very comfy, personally I would have a small 2 seater sofa instead. Apart from that a really nicely set up shepards hut."

"We had an extremely relaxing and comfortable stay at the Old Pump House. It has a great mix of old and new, with the building dating back to 1900s and sensitively renovated with a lovely modern kitchen, a modern patio with rattan furniture and a very large comfortable lounge. The outside gardens are wonderful for relaxing in peace and quiet and as with the house were very tidy and neat and we loved watching the Trout in the ‘gin clear’ which allowed you to see right through the water. The gentle noise of the weir in the background and the bird song made it a magical location away from the hustle and bustle."

"Very warm welcome, no problem arriving early. Room was very clean and airy. Bedding and towels clean. Breakfast was 5*, cooked as we requested and so much choice. Lorraine the cook was very attentive. Would recommend to anybody staying in the local area and would definitly use again."

"We stayed in both properties for a family celebration. The houses were large, extremely clean and had everything we needed. With lovely walks on the doorstep, a couple of decent pubs within walking distance and other walks just a short drive away. This was an excellent base to discover the Forest of Dean."
