"Reid’s Palace was such a lovely hotel - we didn’t want to leave! The ocean lounge area, pool, restaurants, rooms, and views - everything was spectacular."

"The hotel was lovely. We had a view of the sea. The cleaners were very attentive. But maybe the hotel was designed for the younger type of couples. The music around the hotel was the same beat type music. A very big entrance/reception area and lots of chairs. Seemed a waste of space."

"Great location and a very beautiful rose garden for breakfast and lovely dinners. Rooms are large, but a little older; however, still very nice. The hotel food and drinks are VERY expensive. We are from the United States, and you can expect prices as much as New York City and Los Angeles for food and drinks. The staff was mostly friendly but not over-the-top accommodating. Morning staff at breakfast seemed irritable, and the front desk was hit or miss with friendliness"

"This is a fabulous hotel to stay in for a trip to Madeira!! The room was well equipped and a minor issue with the coffee maker was resolved very quickly. Breakfast was plentiful with a good supply of both hot and cold options. Complements to the chefs at the egg station who made tasty fried eggs and omelettes for us each day. The hotel is well placed in Funchal with a supermarket around the corner and the marina and the old town were only a short walk away. What really made our trip was the kindness and warmth of the staff. They couldn’t do enough for us during our stay and helped to make our first trip to Madeira a truly memorable one!"

"Excellent facilities, nice and clean. Staff is very helpful. I would make more fish/seafood choices at the buffet and less meat. Also, the actual beach which I understand ids not really the hotel ’s property is there, but the water is not very clean. But the swimming pool is great. In genrral, excellent all inclusive"
