"Everything was perfect. Place was very clean and organized. Hostess was very nice and an amazing cook. I suggest eating there as every dish was great. If we get back to Madeira then this is a must stay if outside of Funchal."

"Villa Ricardo was as described and clean and comfortable for our stay. Ricardo Senior and Mrs. Rubina were very welcoming, treating us to wine samples during our stay. Communication with Ricardo Junior was very good. The location was very convenient for east island hikes and adventures. Although small, the kitchen was fine for our group of 4 adults. We were grateful for the heaters provided as the weather was damp & cool for the first few days of our stay. And Pipas Restaurant & Bar, in the village, will make you feel like family. "

"We initially really liked this holiday house, especially because of its beautiful location right by the sea. Unfortunately, our experience quickly turned negative. As soon as it rained, water started leaking heavily from three different spots in the ceiling – within one night, we filled 2–3 glasses just from the dripping water. There was also a strong musty, moldy smell throughout the house. The bathroom was much smaller than expected and not shown in any photos, which felt misleading. The biggest issue, however, was the location and access. The road to the house is extremely steep and dangerous. Due to bad weather, a storm caused a landslide, and we were effectively trapped, unable to leave. We had to coordinate with the fire brigade and civil protection services to get out safely. Given the safety concerns, we tried to arrange alternative accommodation, but the hosts showed no understanding or support. There was no compensation offered – neither a replacement stay nor even a partial refund, despite the serious issues. Overall, very disappointing and stressful experience."

"First the house: spacious, loads of light, stunning view, lots of kitchen equipment, clothes washing and drying machines. Brand new house, you only need to show up and enjoy at the Infinite pool Second the service: the best service I have ever had while travelling and staying in private managed properties outside hotels. The booking, the check in and the check out simply brilliant!! Strongly recommend"

No dryer is available, and no laundry detergent was provided, which made basic laundry needs inconvenient during the stay. The location description is also misleading. While Santana itself is quiet and peaceful and about a 40-minute drive to Funchal, the description does not reflect the actual setting. The cleanliness of the unit was below standard, and the towels provided were very rough and uncomfortable. Overall, aside from liking the quiet location, the stay did not align with the listing or typical expectations for a vacation rental. Due to inaccurate information and the condition of the property, I would not recommend staying here."
