"I stayed in the Kava bungalow which I thought was excellent. That said, the stairs to the loft where the main bed is are small and steep so something to keep in mind if you need to try to make it down to use the bathroom and back up in the dead of night. The grounds and the view are straight out of your favourite travel influencer’s TikTok, so that’s a highlight, for sure. And the food at the restaurant was great. The whole place is up a steep hill so it’s not really walking friendly but if you...

"This is a great property if you wish to explore the south side of the island, or if you have your own vehicle. Unfortunately it is NOT 2.5 miles from the airport or the cruise ship port. It is on the opposite side of the island, Depending on traffic, a 90 - 150 minute drive. $115 taxi drive. You can get a 3 day tourist bus pass for 1 franc (a bus ride is 4 francs) but the busses stop running at 4:00 local time. The closest grocery store (outstanding selection of fresh fruit & veggies, meats, and...

"Spacious 3 bedroom villa with great air conditioning in bedrooms, wonderful deck and plunge pool. Handy to have washing machine. Close to good restaurants. Welcome guide would be helpful or more communication with host / front desk re garbage etc. We had no mosquitoes and sat outside at dusk and in the evenings. Wonderful stay!"

"We arrived early, but no manager or receptionist was present; just two staff members who handled food and cleaning. A small breakfast spread was offered with a sign: “We are pleased to offer you a balanced buffet,” but no fee was mentioned. Having traveled widely, we assumed it was complimentary. Later, a receptionist told us there was a $60 breakfast charge. We were shocked—no signage indicated a fee. After contacting the manager, she sent CCTV footage, falsely claiming we were informed. She...

"Owner was helpful and recommended places to eat or buy food and places to explore in the area"

"The Teahupo’o surf break is basically directly out front (off-shore at the reef, of course) but water taxis are right at the shore by the front gate of pension so the location could not be better from that POV. It’s a short walk (5 minutes) on a nice beach path from the Teahupo’o photo wave spot and Olympic rings, or you can drive to the pension and park but only if you’ve got a vehicle capable of river-crossing - so that adds to the charm of the place as well. The pension is quite nice, super...

"We very much enjoyed our stay at Fare Arihau Vairoo. The room was lovely and comfortable. Our hosts were so friendly and welcoming and took care of us as though we were family. We ate dinner and breakfast at the restaurant. All the food was prepared by our host from local ingredients mostly grown in their own garden. All the food was exceptional and the service, some from our hosts little girls, was delightful."

"our flight was delayed, so they allowed us to extend our stay by one night, and order to have the room for the entire day. The room is clean, and the view was incredible over the city."

"Convenient location for airport connections. A little bit of septic smell in hotel."

"It is convenient to the airport, with a ride to and from the airport provided. The room was air conditioned, and a great traditional Tahitian continental breakfast for a small fee. If you need assistance with stairs, that could be challenging. We didn’t use it but we saw a jacuzzi and washer/dryer. Would stay here again. I believe the owner lives in one area and the rooms are on one side of the property."

"Great little spot where you have privacy and share common areas like kitchen, bathrooms, showers. The host was helpful and friendly. The pool was great. Peaceful place. We stayed one afternoon-evening before catching our red eye flight back to Hawaii. It was a nice spot to take a nap, enjoy the pool, and freshen up. Would like to go back and check out the tree house! Maybe next time :)"

"Food and service at the restaurant was 2*."

"Hôtel bien situé. Personnel à l’écoute et sympa. Logement 2 chambres : propre. Balcon appréciable pour les fumeurs. Piscine appréciable. Super séjour avec 2 ados"

"The hotel and the facilities were excellent, the pool is amazing The Lagoon restaurant and bar are beautifully situated but the service is slow and disorganised with some of the bar staff being very disinterested in serving you"

"Poor grounds around the bungalows. All walking paths were dirt. There were no amenities and the breakfast was sparse and not included. Staff was helpful though."
