Basic, value for money.

You get what you pay for: a basic hotel room in an industrial area of Melbourne, with limited service, for a low price (so still rather good value for money). Not so happy with the gaming hub (betting is about the only addiction that is actively stimulated in Australian society). Close to the airport so good for that overnight stay before or after your flight.

The NightCap motel was a very comfortable and exceptionally clean room. The beds were very comfortable the bed linen was really high quality, nice bathroom and all the little things bottled water, microwave and good flatscreen TV. Pleasantly surprised by this property

This hotel was good, however the staff failed to inform me of some vital info. I had to navigate the site alone. they did not inform me that the door I entered from on my arrival would be inaccessible after 10pm, and that there were other doors that would be accessible. One thing I did not like was the way the hot water in the shower was so unpredictable. I would adjust it and 2 min later it was cold then after 2 min it would be so hot. This made it difficult and frustrating to enjoy a shower after a hard days work.

Quite suitable if the location works for you

We chose this hotel while visiting our son, as it is close to his home. Everything is quite acceptable and comfortable, if this location suits you. Short walk to Upfield Station makes for an easy trip into the city. We had an internal door to an adjoining room, and whilst it was always locked, the noise from the TV in the next room was irritating. Meals in the bistro were ok but of variable quality - great fish and chips one night, very disappointing monthly special another (pork belly with scallops, caramel sauce and mash - the less said the better!)
