Lovely old hotel away from the busy areas but within such easy reach by tram or by walking.
Staff are always friendly and obliging and are a credit to the management.
If visiting Melbourne Uni or one of the medical facilities or the AO it is an excellent choice.

Room was clean and comfortable, and good value. There is a bit of noise generated from the Pub/Restaurant, and the busy street location. However, the same street provides great transport access, and the restaurant is fabulous. I ate there twice over 3 nights. Food and service was terrific. All staff encountered were very friendly. I'd certainly stay again.

Wonderfully friendly and helpful staff. Nice clean room, excellent bathroom facilities, good to have WiFi, fridge and kettle.
Saturday night was pretty noisy (quiz night followed by live musicians) but otherwise fine. Great regular tram route 19, really good 7-day cafe two blocks away.

Nice place for reasonable price
Clean place; friendly staff; quiet despite the restaurant downstairs. However, the internet didn’t work well in my room. Nevertheless, it was a very good choice for my visit at the University of Melbourne.
