"Mattress was beyond hard. Really unbelievable. Check-in self-service would not take a credit card unless you had a PIN. No place to sit, relax or work. Any area where you might think to go was reservation only, so you couldn't just go to relax or read at random times. Rooms are too small to do any of this in. Lobby was always full of tour groups and stacked luggage. Bathrooms were super small. "

Having a translation app handy definitely makes communication smoother. The breakfast is a standout, offering a wide variety of delicious options to start your day right. Overall, despite the smaller room size, the service and quality make it a great place to stay. I wouldn’t hesitate to choose this hotel again on my next visit to Kyoto."
