Take a bounce on the Water Trampoline, jump into the lake off the 2-Story Dock (or just enjoy a drink and the view from there!). Evenings are fantastic around the elevated Lake-View Fire Pit.

Great Lake House!

What a wonderful house for our family lake vacay! We are definitely planning to come back!! All the rooms were comfortable and clean and the bathrooms had everything we needed! Even with the weather not cooperating the kids loved the water trampoline and the cove was fantastic for paddle boarding and kayaking!!

Great for Family With Adult Children

Spacious and a great home for families wanting division of space for adult children. Bedrooms ensuite was very popular along with the lower level game room. A great part of the lake for lake activities. We really enjoyed our stay.

Great family getaway

Property is in a quiet neighborhood with pickleball and pool .5m down the road. The house was well stocked and perfect for our crew of 9. We rented a boat and the kids enjoyed the double decker dock and water trampoline! Good communication with owners and the house had nice spacious rooms and a great deck for evening cocktails!

Beautiful, quiet property

This house was perfect for our group of 7 adults and 6 kids. Plenty of room for everyone to spread out and to gather. The kids had a blast. Great location, clean, and quiet. Very easy check in and check out. We hope to make a stay here an annual tradition.

Pleasant place to stay with a lovely view of the lake. It is a peaceful setting with lots to offer. Our November stay and the cold snap that moved in toward the end of our visit did not allow for much outdoor time but we had a few hours of sunshine to enjoy the water view from the deck. There is some level of water view from almost every room in the house in the fall. And the heat worked great when the outdoor temp reached the low 30s with wind chill of 18 degrees! We also enjoyed the dart board and games in the lower level rec area. It is nice to have bathrooms for almost every bedroom and the kitchen was well equipped for making and serving meals for a large family. The host was communicative and quick to answer questions. We brought our pet who also seemed very happy - lots of new places to sniff!!We would happily visit again!!!!!!

Summertime celebration

We found the house to clean, well stocked and a great location. The best part was the over-sized bedrooms! Great view for morning coffee on 2nd story deck. would definitely rebook for next summer.

Awesome girls weekend!

We had the best time at the is beautiful property! From the moment we arrived everything was just great! The house is thoughtfully well equipped with everything we needed. The abundance of towels and amenities was just great! Everyone loved the view and dock. The layout was perfect and the house was perfect for our large group of 16! We will definitely book here again!

Perfect for extended family!

We had a wonderful short stay! There were 10 of us total from two families. Plenty of space for both private and family time. Rooms are spacious with sitting areas, large kitchen, great living room, space to play games and spread out in the basement, and fantastic views! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this property!

Fabulous Property

Tremendous location, all of the desired amenities, very clean, with a warm & cozy vibe. We hosted our kids, and 5 grandkids for a vacation on the lake, and couldn't be happier with our selection. Our first visit to SML, and this home made it memorable. We will definitely be back.

Perfect weekend

Beautiful home on the lake. The home accommodated two families with a total of 10 perfectly. The kitchen was well appointed to cook along with the outdoor grills. A fun weekend was had by all! We would definitely rent this home again

Great getaway on the lake

This house was the perfect site for a book club getaway for 6 ladies from Maryland. Everyone had their own bedroom and most had their own bathroom as well. The kitchen was well stocked and eating on the deck was lovely. We took the kayaks out and had a fire in the firepit - all in all, a fabulous time!

Beautiful home, plenty of space for all. Excellent dock life. Beautiful wildlife! Ducklings for our 2 year old granddaughter and Osprey and Blue Herons for us. Thankful for people who rent their homes!

A great place for our family Christmas!

Hi, My family booked this house for our family Christmas. It was our first Christmas since my father passed and Maggie and David were outstanding hosts. The property was as described. Beautiful location with many things to do in the surrounding towns. If you are looking for a place for a long weekend or an extended stay, please consider this property, you won’t regret it!

New Years Eve on the lake!

We had a wonderful time in this beautifully located home on the lake. We enjoyed the sun rises over the lake. The house was very clean and the owners left the Christmas decorations up which was very festive as we were there over New Year’s Eve. My only complaint is we had to dispose of our trash at a dump when we left and putting bags of trash in a car with luggage and food wasn’t pleasant especially with no garbage disposal in the kitchen. Overall we were very comfortable and loved our time together.

Beautiful home!

We loved our stay in this beautiful home! We are a group of 10 adults, who often use VRBO. In our experience, this was one of the best appointed homes we've stayed in; the kitchen was so well-stocked. It was very comfortable for a large group, and a great location (we played pickleball and rented a pontoon boat). Even on our rainy day, the layout of the home and game room made for a wonderful time. The owners were excellent communicators; we hope to rent this home again in the future!

Perfect!

We had a family gathering at this house and could not have asked for a better home. They owners made us feel so welcome with little touches. We've rented a lot of vacation places and none have been so well appointed. (especially the kitchen) The offer to use the paddleboard and kayaks was very kind, and some of us took them out, I hope we get to come back soon!

Graduation weekend

This is a wonderful home located in a beautiful and relaxing area on Smith Mountain Lake. The house had EVERYTHING we needed and was spotless. We initially had a little trouble gaining access to the house due to problems with new security lock and host was a little slow to respond but once host responded we were able to get the issue resolved. We would definitely rent this home again if in the area.

Wonderful vacation spot

This home was the perfect size for our family. We had kids 17, 9, 10 and 12 with us. They absolutely loved the water trampoline and high diving/ jumping off the upper deck. The rest of us spent many hours on the dock, reading, talking and also spent a lot of time in the water. The weather was perfect the entire week. We rented a deck boat so the kids could go tubing. The older set went on morning boat rides. I can’t recommend this property enough!

Clean spacious property

We all enjoyed our stay with plenty of space. The extra room in the basement with the sleeper sofa was helpful. The bunk bed room is always fun for kids but my teens didn't think the beds were the most comfortable and some of the pillows are thin. The bedrooms had plenty of floor space and room to move about. Loved the property but we were there when it was cold so we didn't get to take advantage of all the amenities. Pickleball within walking distance was great and always available. The darts were missing so those will need replaced or bring your own. Love that there are two fridges when staying with a large group. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

nice stay

Exceptionally clean throughout, living room provides plenty of seating for a large group, kitchen is very well equipped for cooking for a crowd. The weather was not real favorable for being in the water, so we enjoyed the pickle ball court. We are a 3 generation family who have been coming to SML since 2008. This was certainly one of the best maintained and most attention to details we have rented in fifteen years. The fresh flowers and fruit, smores kit, chocolates on the night stands lend a nice welcoming touch. As was earlier stated the weather didn't lend itself to spending much time in the water, but had the sun been shining brightly, the dock/party deck and water trampoline would have been amazing! With a multi generational family that is still growing it was great to find a place this nice that met our needs at a reasonable rate.

Great Family Gathering

We stayed at the Paul’s Place for Christmas and it was a great experience. The property is very well laid out, accommodating our large family needs quite well. Of note, Maggie had the house beautifully decorated for Christmas, creating a welcoming and festive atmosphere. Even with the cooler Virginia weather, we enjoyed the water resources, especially the floating trampoline. The kitchen was extremely well stocked and appointed, enabling us to pull off a complete Christmas meal with all the trimmings. The kids loved the game room setup, and the adults loved the fact that we had sufficient seating on the main level to enjoy lots of family time together comfortably. The views of the cove and lake were so relaxing, especially at sunrise and sunset, and the property provides many vantage points to enjoy those views. I would also like to point out that, while not ADA listed, this house did accommodate one family member in a walker well. The property also is located close to shopping, restaurants, and great things to do and see in the surrounding area. Maggie and David were great hosts during the entire process, and we look forward to returning here for family events in the future.
