"Check in was very easy and we were able to check in early. Communication was exceptional. Very clean, cute place. We would definitely stay here again. "
"It is a cozy, cute hotel tucked in the beautiful hills of Camogli. The room was clean and came with snacks and a coffee maker in it. The hotel provided fresh focaccia every morning. Staff was friendly and spoke English which was a plus for us as we don't speak Italian. "
"An excellent property, good location, we took a bus from the train station to property, then took a boat to Portofino. Very good service, as we have to leave early next day before breakfast time, the staff prepared carrying out breakfast for us and arranged taxi for us. We highly recommend this property."
"We had the Portofino room, which featured a gorgeous sea view. The entire villa is phenomenal, each room is a work of art, with vaulted ceilings and original artwork. Breakfast was a delight, with fresh fruit and veggies, perfect portions and honey from the property. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful during the stay. I would recommend Villa Gelsomino in a heartbeat."
"We had an excellent stay! Staffs were amazing and the service was just exceptionally great! Live the location of the property and the hotel is just classic, we later learned it’s owned by LVMH, it’s no wonder…. We’d definitely recommend to anyone going to Portofino! "
"Vanessa and everyone I came across at the front desk were lovely, helpful, and friendly. The hospitality is wonderful! Would definitely be coming back!"
"Beautiful property with amazing food and even a great gym and spa. It is a bit removed from the city center but they are always willing to find transportation. "

"It was our second stay in Camogli and we weren’t disappointed. The staff is very professional and friendly. The service was outstanding. We enjoyed the terrace overlooking the sea, the pool with an attentive live guard, the food at the outdoor restaurant. The hotel has a few buildings and many seating areas in and outdoors. Overall we enjoyed our stay and are highly recommending the bit old fashioned but high class hotel. "
"The experience at this accommodation has been terrible due to:
Lack of basic cleanliness- dirty toilet brush, empty hand soap, shower gel on top of the shower head, when you open the basin tap the water splashes everywhere,…
Poor Sleeping facilities- double bed mattress really poor - unable to sleep due to the awful quality of mattress.
Pillows really flat and broken edges.
Sofabed with dirty signs by the pillows area.
Lack of facilities such as microwave, coffee machine,….
Furthermore, before leaving a person from the agency comes to check and inspect the apartment in case ‘you forget the shower gel behind.’ Also never happened to us before but there’s always a first time - you must not leave any rubbish in the apartment.
Insisting the check out to be between 8:00AM-10:00AM which is not the usual standards in hospitality. Specially when you need to walk down and up a very steep hill.
Not even having enough time to have breakfast. It is a holiday stay and guests should not be rushed. Check out should be done as standard practice, between 11:00-12:00.
A place that we will not go back. Really terrible."
"Could not beat the view. Beautiful place. Only about 10 min from the beach/sea. Definitely at least double coming back up. Would definitely stay there again!"
"First, let me start with some positives:
The location is close to the train station
The presence of an elevator
The views are pretty decent from the balcony
The size of the apartment is nice
Now let’s talk about the negatives:
There is next to zero communication with this property. I attempted to reach them for eight months prior to traveling here without success. Expedia was also not successful. It resulted in me booking a second location only to finally have them reach out to me and tell me that this is NON-REFUNDABLE! We gave them a check in time for between 4 and 5 PM. We had heavy bags with us only to arrive at this location and first we were unable to locate the proper apartment. I sent a text message to the same number. They had reached out to me for checking in time and received no reply back. We finally found the apartment only to discover that they were barely starting to clean it. They told us we needed to come back later. We wound up sleeping at the second accommodation for that first night. They refused to refund the first night.
When we did check in, we discovered
Floors were filthy and left your socks, black and full of hair
No book on instructions for finding Wi-Fi or how to operate anything
No kitchen towels, no paper towels, no adapter to plug in your electrical appliances, such as your phone
Save yourself the hassle! Book somewhere else!!!"
