"Expected more from this high rated hotel. As a female solo traveller, I requested airport pick up and confirmed it twice. The communication to do that took several days each time. Upon my arrival, the driver was holding the hotel name sign but he did not have my name on his list. Luckily he was still able to take me. Room was clean and comfortable. Wifi was excellent. Pool was great. There were many conferences/events going on in the hotel. When I went in for lunch, it was empty. I looked at all the hot dishes and started with a salad. All the attendees came in and the line for the hot food was so long, I left. While in line, the attendees also took almost all of the desserts as they waited. For cold salads, buns and a couple desserts it was 55CAD. I thought that was outrageous for what I ate. I requested at minimum a partial refund at the front desk. She had to call the restaurant. Rep came and he had to call his superior. This superior had to call his superior. I left the hotel before this issue was resolved. The last employee/manager did waive my dinner on my last night. I would not return to this hotel."

"Found used condoms in my room upon checking in. When I told the receptionist, she asked me "why I was making her life harder" and that "mistakes happen". They did offer to move me into smaller rooms but eventually just took out the trash with the used condoms inside and said that's all they could do. They also did not honor the free airport transfer. Genuinely a terrible experience, I cannot in good conscious recommend anyone stay here."

"Not exceptional. The hotel was comfortable with, “no frills”. The staff was continuously working for some sort of underhanded/under the table “commissions”, “cut of the action”, with every single thing we attempted to work out with the concierge or drivers. A simple hotel car became too much and not safe for any of us. Constant manipulation of the truth, demands that the car be paid for in cash instead of the agreed on payment to the hotel. We were told the “hotel car cannot go there to that restaurant”, but I can take you privately to, another good one”. The private car shows up and not the hotel van that we hired. We were denied being brought completely back to the hotel because the “hotel driver “, brought his own car and said his boss would be mad. We were only brought to the hotel next door since this driver could not enter our security gate. The entire 2 days felt like a continuous con job and the entire staff (concierge, drivers and front desk) seemed to work together to make side profits. They wasted our 2 days to enjoy Maputo and the area. "

"Room was very clean with good wifi though not all the lights worked. Plenty of hot water. Staff was courteous and helpful, breakfast was adequate (there is an egg station). Lobby is dark and drab, but location is good, only a few blocks from the Cathdral. In a Muslim area, so no beer served, but a good pizzaria on site."
