Parmer's Resort

"The staff at Parmer’s is excellent from the check-in person to everyone that works on the grounds. However, this place had to grow on me because my initial reaction was one of disappointment. I think the pictures look much better than what’s actually there. The beach that’s advertised and looks like a sandy oasis with a clean shoreline is actually about sandy to mid calf and then algae and seaweed. A nice place to catch some rays with nice loungers but sitting on the waters edge but not for swimming or wading. The furniture is straight out of the 60’s or 70’s, but is clean and well kept. The A/C is enough to keep the cottage type bungalow cool but too far from the bathroom to keep that area cool. The pool is super clean and well maintained but water too hot during summer and would benefit from the pump keeping water flowing longer. Having said all this I found Parmer’s growing on us because of the staff, the light breakfast, eagerness of staff to please providing a fan to keep the bath cooler, the boat ramp, kayaks, shaded sitting areas by the water, fishing on property and the overall laid back feeling made me forget what wasn’t perfect and remember what hotel stays were like when I was young. No fancy Marriott’s or Sheraton, but just a place where you felt you hadn’t left home, but gained a water view with a summer breeze."

Luxury and Lovely Water Front House

"Place was wonderful for our lobster trip. Everything as advertised. Very comfortable beds and awesome air conditioning. For the boating people: dock is great and in a protected canal oriented east/west. Fish cleaning station and hose located at dock. Closet electric outlet is about 20’ away. I have a 25’ bay boat and had no problem getting my boat in and out of the canal. Word of caution; there is a large rock wall just outside of the canal opening that requires you to make an immediate 90 right turn to get out to the flats. It is clearly marked with pvc, but might be a tight squeeze for a larger boat. Also, during low tide, it gets skinny coming out of the flats. I draft 14” and just got by with the motors trimmed and jacked up. Trailer storage at house is doable, but any wider and it may not fit. Gate opening is about 12’ wide into property."

"The house is right on the water with spectacular views. It accommodated 11 of us perfectly for 5 nights (6 adults & 5 kids). We brought a pontoon boat & were able to dock it at the end of the dock. We found spectacular snorkeling off of Looe Key. The kids loved the pool, paddle boarding & kayaking (we brought our own). The house is very clean & the bathrooms & kitchen were modern & nice. We thoroughly enjoyed Pops BBQ, & Tacos Express (both were the BEST food). The host Mariana communicated super fast with us & facilitated check in. Loved the whole experience & would definitely do it again!!"

"We had an incredible month-long stay at Sirena Key. The property is 5 stars all the way, from the stunning ocean views over the sunken in-ground pool, to the luxurious primary suite. Examples of incredible attention to detail include a kitchen fully stocked with utensils and serve ware, more than adequate number of bath/pool towels, and an array of outdoor toys like kayaks and paddle boards. The property management team was attentive to our inquires, which we appreciated as we were staying at the home with two small children. We left Sirena Key with beautiful family memories. Highly recommend!"

" Nice house, beautifully decorated and clean. Great location for boating. We brought our 24’ boat, total length is 27.5’ with windlass, anchor and motor up. The neighbor is so kind and didn’t mind that our boat was encroaching on his seawall."

"This house was exactly how we like to vacation. The property is cozy with a laid-back easy-living vibe. Perfect place to launch your kayaks, then lounge in the pool afterwards. Great water views with no mangroves to interrupt it.The kitchen was fully stocked with all the dishes, pots/pans, and appliances you could need. Gas grill downstairs. I did try out the pizza oven, but it was just too windy for it to be effective.There are many very good Cuban restaurants nearby. 8 minutes to Big Pine where you’ll find more restaurants, shops, and Winn-Dixie for groceries. 30 miles into Key West if you feel the need to be a tourist.Definitely want to return for another stay if the property (which is for sale) remains on the vacation rental market.We stayed for a month in April and the temperatures were perfect."
