"Nice hotel on the edge of town. Breakfast was very good - we had to leave early on our last day, so there wasn’t any coffee available before 7:30, but we enjoyed the breakfasts we had.
Convenient grocery store across the street for snacks, water, etc. Walked up the hill to get a great view of the city and see other neighborhoods. Great restaurant nearby - Moogone!"

"I came here as a solo woman & this is such a beautiful hotel, I can't believe it is only 3 stars on here. All the staff were wonderful, attentive, & friendly. Great location with nice little balconies (at least my unit had one), on a main road so expect noise during the day & relative quiet at night. Clean & has everything you need for an extremely comfortable stay in Oaxaca <3"

"This is a friendly, peaceful, and authentic hotel that is blessedly removed from the super busy center but easily walkable to the cathedral, markets, and various restaurants. There is a peaceful rooftop terrace where you can find self serve beverages as well as breakfast (both for a small extra charge). It is so wonderful to stay in a place owned and managed sustainably by locals who love it. I will definitely be back. "

All aspects were good. The included breakfast had a number of good choices. We ate a couple of times at the pool which was a lovely experience + shout out to the bar person at the pool who was very friendly.
The street level rooms can be a bit noisy but the sound proofing is pretty good and earplugs worked.

"I cannot recommend Ginger Banana enough!
The hostel is nice and centrally located. The space is calm, clean, and cute.The space was great, but the best part of Ginger Banana was the people! The staff seriously went above and beyond to help me navigate the city/find tours and make me feel welcome. They helped me feel comfortable and taken care of as a solo traveler. If you’re looking to visit Oaxaca City, definitely stay here."

"dulce, eder and all staff were great, always helpful. my room was very comfortable and spotlessly cleaned each day. breakfasts were tasty and varied. unfortunately external construction created unwanted noise but this did not detract from the excellence of the casa carlota standard. i highly recommend casa carlota!
