"This house is amazing!! Has everything you could need and more! Really appreciated little things like beach chairs, boogie boards, laundry detergent being stocked… only thing that was a little tricky is the master bedroom is separated by a breezeway, an outside breezeway… so if you have small children it is tricky to have both adults sleep in that room. Otherwise house is special, walking distance to the beach, a cute little coffee shop, quick drive to tunnels beach and more!"

"Chose this Vrbo for the view, and the wife was a big fan of the place. The AC in the bedroom was very effective, and the place would have been too hot had it not been working, so we really liked having the AC. If you are wanting to do a drive up to the canyon there aren't many places that will be a further drive, but the drive wasn't too long for us, and we got to stay on the North Shore, which we discovered was our favorite part of the island! We would stay again."

"It was a lovely property to stay at. I really enjoyed the clawfoot tub to soak in after a day at the beach. I enjoyed all the beautiful plants at the property. It was nice that they provided beach chairs to use. The north shore of Kauai is amazing!Donna responded very quickly whenever I had a question."

"Our stay at Hanalei Colony Resort was nothing short of exceptional—an easy 10/10! From the moment we arrived, we knew we had found a truly special place. If you’re looking for peace, relaxation, and the authentic beauty of Kauai, this is it. The location is absolutely breathtaking. Waking up to the lush mountains, listening to the waves, and enjoying the cool trade winds made every day feel like paradise. The climate was perfect for us—comfortable temperatures, fresh ocean breezes, and just enough tropical rain to keep everything incredibly green and beautiful. The entire staff was warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful throughout our stay. Every interaction made us feel like valued guests, and their hospitality added so much to our experience. We completely fell in love with Hanalei and the North Shore. The slower pace of life, stunning scenery, amazing food, and friendly people made it incredibly difficult to leave. It was exactly the kind of relaxing vacation we had hoped for. Hanalei Colony Resort provided the perfect escape from busy everyday life. Whether we were enjoying the views from our lanai, exploring the area, or simply unwinding, every moment felt peaceful and rejuvenating. We are already planning our return trip next year. "Really enjoyed our stay in River Estates. Mark was more than helpful to arrange anything I asked for...SUP's for the week, zodiac boat trip last minute, and helping us navigate the shuttle to Ha'ena State Park. Hanalei had a great farmer's market we hit up the first day to stock up on local produce as well as being a cool town to cruise around. The SUP's were great for paddling down to the private beach area, but there are also many beaches very close by to visit as well. The house was very clean and perfect for our needs. It felt like living in the jungle for a week. If it wasn't a 22 hour journey, we'd be back again soon!"

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have stayed at Hale Pua Kai now four times in the past 7 years. It is the sweetest north shore hideaway you can imagine. The kitchen is well-stocked with cooking/eating tools. The house is cool inside even when it's hot outside. It has an "old Hawai'i" vibe that is just so pleasant. You have easy access to Kepuhi (10 minute walk) and Tunnels (15 minutes walk), both excellent snorkeling beaches. The one thing that was disappointing is the bed, which is a bit soft and sagging. My husband was ok with it but I was less comfortable. However, it is not a deterrent! Hale Pua Kai is our home away from home, and we will be going there every year for as long as we can! Thank you, KVR, for being such excellent hosts."

"The treehouse was simply wonderful, just what my family was looking for. The roosters were a bit loud and took getting used to, but we felt like we were in the forest. Gorgeous property and location, we would definitely come back to stay again. Thank you!"
