Oceanfront luxury in this spacious 10-bedroom home in South Nags Head.

Treat your family to a memorable vacation at 'Twisted Fish' and enjoy all the special touches that have made this spectacular vacation property a favorite destination in South Nags Head. Ten bedrooms, multiple King Master Suites, an elevator and other awesome amenities will keep your family happy on or off the beach. The private pool and kiddie pool will provide hours of entertainment for the entire family. Beautiful pool deck with poolside hot tub under a custom-built gazebo is right off the dune steps.

This home is handicap accessible, and features a ramp for easy access to the outdoor amenities! Please note all entryway doors, including the elevator are 34 inches wide.

Spectacular views of the ocean await you from both levels. The rec room has a kitchenette with full-size refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave and bar seating. All ages will enjoy a friendly game of pool on the full-size pool table, or just lay back and watch the game on the TV. Twisted Fish is located in quiet South Nags Head, an area that has kept its charm, yet it's just minutes away from any activity that you could imagine. Close to Oregon Inlet Fishing Marina and Pirates Cove Marina for world class deep sea fishing! Watersports, famous local restaurants, outlet shopping, grocery stores and more are all near by. Be sure to visit Historic Roanoke Island which includes the N.C. Aquarium, Elizabethan Gardens, shopping in historic downtown Manteo complete with a replica Lighthouse and the outdoor 'Lost Colony' drama. Also, close to the National Seashore route south through Pea Island, and down to Hatteras for a day trip to the Lighthouse. You'll love all the choices available at the 'Twisted Fish'!

My New Favorite!

This place is absolutely amazing. Clean, comfortable and views that you can't beat. We loved our week long stay here and everyone agreed, this is our new favorite beach house to stay at. We will be back to visit here again.

From the grandparents to the kids to the grandkids. The heated pool was great as we had cooler than normal weather. The pool area seemed not ready for a busy summer. Weeds growing in all the cracks and very few chairs around it. Overall we will definitely be back to this house.

The house was very clean when we arrived and it appears well maintained. It's in the quieter part of South Nags Head and the beach is not too crowded in early June. Any repair issues have always been promptly handled. It is well equipped to accommodate the 11 members of our family.

The kitchen is well stocked. My family enjoyed the private pool and hot tub. We did pay extra for the pool heater which is a must. Well worth the extra money. Because we have littles, we brought our own baby gates to keep little ones from falling down the stairs. I would recommend this house.

Good bones for a great stay

The view from the deck and main living area of the property is great! The pool is nice and large & two outdoor showers make it easier to keep sand out of the house. Loved having the lifeguard tower on the beach right in front of the property. The kitchen is stocked with cookware and there family board games and smart TVs for entertainment. Similar big complaint as everyone else - I would contract with a new cleaning company. The rugs in the living areas look like they have never been vacuumed, and could use a good cleaning or replacement & we had to rewash two sets of sheets on beds that were supposed to be clean but did not appear to be - it was off putting, but not a dealbreaker.

A week in the Outer Banks

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall Twisted Fish was a great house for our large, diverse group. the few minor repairs that we noted were addressed quickly, but there were issues with the cleanliness of some of the bathrooms even after the cleaning crew came back to take care of them they were not up to standard. the elevator was a blessing and the beach was super. The kitchen was well equipped but could have u sed more plastic lidded containers for leftovers. The pool was clean and enjoyed all week. It was an awesome week and we miss it already There was mold on shower curtains and in the showers that should have been taken care of.

That being said the pictures made the rooms look much bigger than they were. The house needs a good update and repainting. Our biggest issue was the mold on the on the ceilings in several rooms, mainly the bottom floor. The pool person didn't come all week and the hot tub needed cleaned...badly. Again our family had a great time, the elevator was very helpful and the closeness to the ocean was wonderful.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house fit our diverse family group and had space for everyone. However, there was signs of water damage and mold all over the second floor. During our stay, the 3rd floor ac was broken and they had placed ac units in the bedrooms and two in the great room. Thankfully the week we were there was cool enough that the ac units were able to keep up. We did ask about broken items and were told that they had been sent to the maintenance department but were not addressed during our stay. The pool is super large and was a great place to relax after a day at the beach. We were worried about the proximity to the beach access but had no issues with finding a place on the beach each day. Overall, this is a nice house but it could use some maintenance and deep cleaning.

Reviewer Comments: House is showing its age, furniture needs replaced, especially pool chairs. There appeared to be black mold coming out of several vents, several of our family members developed cold-like symptoms. We were told it ‘was just dust” which should have been cleaned, but clearly was more. Hot tub light did not work, no other lighting in that area at night. The shower heads, shower curtains, and water pressure all need addressed. The bunk beds are worn and unsteady. Maintenance was quick to respond, however rude and annoyed with our complaints. The pool could have been cleaned during the week as sand builds up. The location of the home is great and has potential to be 5 star, but definitely needs remodeled and deep-cleaned.

Home and amenities were outdated and in poor condition. I'm sure the home was top of the line 15 years ago but 15 years of weekly rentals have taken their toll. Many broken appliances (toaster, vacuum, refrigerator). Home was very dirty with lot of mold in every bathroom shower. Leaking water into floor 1 from floor 2 bathroom (reported). Shower drain in MBR not draining (Gross!!!) Pool furniture was a joke with ****** and broken plastic furniture around pool. Only 2 high top chairs for upper deck. Why? The ****** plastic chairs for lower deck and pool area were broken and "hidden" on side of house but not replaced so not enough seating.

Reviewer Comments: wasps in bedroom, office did not respond, mold around ceiling registers, mold on shower heads, shower doors and curtains, shower drain full of hair, wouldn't drain, ice makers in 2 refrigerators not working, signs and sounds of animal eating its way in wall lower bathroom, ground level bed makes plastic crunching sounds and other bed is mush and headboards hit walls, missing light bulbs in all baths and stairwell, kitchen needs more forks, couch ground level needs cleaned or replaced, ALL floors need mopping/cleaning including stairway, sliding door tracks are filthy, top floor air conditioner quit working-thermostat was blank, groundskeeper weed wacked, but left debris on steps, someone's package delivered, but office never responded to my call

Look Elsewhere and Go With a Different Rental Company

We have been vacationing in the outer banks for 24 yrs. and have always received clean and pretty well maintained homes. When and if there was an issue, Brindley Beach or Twiddy always took care of it promptly. This was the most money we ever spent for a week here (12k) and honestly 8k would’ve been too much for what we got. The house is in a great spot and the layout was good BUT that’s it. It needs some serious upkeep!I have a list as long as my arm of the issues we had. The least being sticky floors in main area (we had two crawling babies,)dirty dishes in dishwasher, stuff from old renters (makeup, clothes etc) in drawers and under furniture, really dirty(food) high chair, a disgustingly dirty(toilet, dirty washcloth in shower🤮) way a bathroom was left in my 88yr old mother’s room, a dirty diaper left in a sink cabinet in another room, etc., to a drain that wasn’t draining in one of the bathroom showers on the musty smelling bottom floor. There was mold in many places. The “handicapped” bathroom was ridiculously unsafe! My mother uses a cane or walker and is pretty independent and although there was a grab bar, bench and no curb into shower, when wet, the shower floor, bench and bathroom floor became so dangerously slippery that I had to put my hiking sandals on her feet and stand there and hold her arm. Humiliating for her. I had to dry the entire floor of the room before letting her get off the bench. Nobody came to fix the drain we reported twice via calling and texting so we got some stuff to get it to work better😡 Your cleaning staff should be retrained..Such gross conditions! The cleaning staff came back the first day and cleaned the food drips going down most kitchen cabinets and blood(yes, blood)smeared/ streaked on a door frame (there was also blood in the driveway😳) but there was soooo much more that needed to be done

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The property was not in as good a shape this year as it was the year before. Both freezers were difficult to get into. We were pleased to gain access as early as we did on Saturday. The repairman who fixed the AC did a good job, although the window units seemed ineffective. The property meets our needs as we are an extended family vacationing for a week.

Time with Family was Great! Rental, not so great.

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our overall vacation was great spending quality time with family and friends. This was the 3rd year at this property for this particular week in July. The property seems to lack maintenance in the following manner: air conditioning unit was broke when we arrived with multiple window units installed; the rear deck needs painted and repaired as a number of the balasters were loose especially walking up the stairs causing a safety concerns for the children and elderly; bathrooms were dirty with mold growing on upstairs master with shower heads that were not operational; overall cleanliness was not great; Both level 1 and level 3 sliding doors were not operational at times being stuck. Property needs an overall deep clean as a majority of the surfaces were dirty with visible dust on ceiling fans. Exterior of the rental has garbage thrown around the property with a strong smell of stale alcohol. With these items as well as the rental property going up over 30%, my family will not be staying at this rental for a 4th straight year.

It is a good location in South Nags Head with a wide beach and a lifeguard station at the end of the adjacent public accesss road. Our overall satisfaction rating would be 5-very satisfied. The overall condition of the property is pretty good although we have observed an accumulation of deferred maintenance. Nothing that interfered with our vacation but we did have to call for maintenance on several items. Rating 3-generally satisfied. The house was very clean when we checked in except for one bedroom on the first floor that had not been finished until we reported it. We were surprised that the pool and hot tub were not serviced during the week we were there. Rating 4-satisfied. We found Beach Realty to be very responsive when we contacted them and they are easy to work with making a reservation, processing payments, and notifying you when the property is ready to check in.

Just a basic beach rental

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Frustrating to access various places of the home in a wheelchair. Their is one bedroom/bathroom that is handicap. It is very difficult to get between the bed and dresser to get to this only bathroom. The 2nd floor deck is so molded that when wet is too slick to walk across. We had to sweep the floors, clean the kitchen counters and other areas just to use the home. Most bedrooms and other bathrooms I could not go into because the doors were small. It was a bad storm the entire time, except 1 day, so we were inside the whole time. If some where in one room talking, I could not join in as I could not get thru the 27 inch door. The outside decks were difficult as there is a 5 to 7 inch drop to exit. I had to have help getting back in as there was no door ramp for the drop.
