"AC unit barely worked. Had it on the lowest temp and highest fan and the room never got close to the desired temperature. When maintenance came to look at it, they said “it’s blowing cold air” and “the best I can do is have someone replace it tomorrow”. Luckily I travel with a fan and could take cold showers. Also lights in the room produced a decent amount of heat so we mostly kept them off. Breakfast was good, well stocked and maintained. Tables are crowded but to be expected during busy season. Great location with decent food options around and perfect placement for the canyon."
"The El Tovar restaurant food was superb and very well priced. The bus routes throughout the park was excellent to see all the photo shot opportunities of the canyon as well as the hiking trails."
"Our room was great and clean. Enough space for 4 of us and we had a balcony. No microwave but I knew about that. We had a mini fridge and coffee maker. In the main building you can find good food with affordable prices. From all my 6 nights trip around Zion and Grand Canyon Maswick stay was the best."
"Basic hotel, and provides all the basics well. Check in was easy , there’s a free continental breakfast ( always overslept so not sure how it was) Bed was firm, parking right out front of unit. Only complaint is that on day of check out housekeeping banged loudly on door at 9:30am when checkout isn’t until 11am … I feel they should have either waited u til that time or checked with front desk if we had already checked out"
"I had a wonderful stay at Bright Angel Lodge and would absolutely stay here again on a future visit to the Grand Canyon.
The location is truly unbeatable. Being right on the rim and steps away from the Bright Angel Trail made it incredibly easy to experience sunrise, sunset, and some of the park’s most iconic views. One of my favorite memories was watching the sunrise before hiking down to the arch and seeing the mule riders heading into the canyon. It was such a unique experience.
The cabins are cozy, comfortable, and surprisingly warm at night. While there is no air conditioning, it wasn’t an issue during my stay thanks to the cool canyon breeze. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the entire property felt welcoming and easy to navigate.
My only minor disappointment was that I paid extra for a rim-side cabin and expected more of a direct canyon view from my room. The surrounding vegetation blocked most of the view from the cabin itself. That said, the property is still beautiful, and you’re only a short walk from incredible panoramic views, so it didn’t take away from the overall experience.
Another huge advantage is how connected the lodge is to everything in the village. There are restaurants, gift shops, cocktail lounges, shuttle stops, bike rentals, guided tours, and mule rides all nearby. I rarely needed to drive because the shuttle system made getting around the park so easy.
Overall, this is a fantastic place to stay if you want convenient access to Park."
