"We grew up in the area, so we definitely wanted to stay at a hotel that has such a storied history. The Blackburn Inn was very clean, and the staff was friendly and helpful. They were absolutely great. The things we were a little disappointed in, the rooms were a little small. I know you must consider what the building was used for and they did combine two rooms when the hotel was established but even so, there is no room even for a casual chair. There is also no microwave although there is a small fridge and coffee maker. The bath is excellent. If you have handicap privileges for your car, you have same level access to the 1st floor entrance. If not, you have a small hill or two small flights of stairs to access the door. We stayed in a "Classic Queen" room. I would suggest upgrading to at least the "Deluxe Queen". You will get seating, other than your bed, but still no microwave. Those rooms were not available when we booked. The Bistro is excellent. The lady that took our order also had to do the cooking, prepare the silverware, bus the tables and attempt to keep her sanity. She received help from the gentleman who was manning the front desk. The locations are halfway across the hotel from each other. These folks were absolutely great. The hotel does need to put more staff on duty. Do not miss the spiral staircase on the fourth floor. It leads to an outside observation deck. Good views of Staunton. Enjoy."

"Clean quiet stay. Suite was a nice size with sectional sitting area. Double sink and walk in shower. Comfortable bed and big screen TV. Breakfast was similar to other Hotels that offer free breakfast except there were more options and better stocked than most. I was pleasantly surprised by the property. Only negative was the carpet off the elevators was soiled and needs cleaning."
