"This hotel is central to everywhere we want to go in SF! Plus, we feel safe in this neighbourhood. We love the atmosphere at Union Square, and BART is close by for our trips out to the suburbs. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Our room was nice and clean, and our room requests were met 100%. We have stayed at the Handlery many times over the years, and will stay here again! "This hotel was comfortable, clean, offered a beautiful view of the marina, free “bike” usage, a typical continental breakfast (although a longer breakfast time than most hotels we have stayed at, and kind, polite staff. The only “downside” was the hot tub was not in service and the weight room had no weights (we were told they had been stolen). The hot tub was a regrettable experience however, everything else was enjoyable. We would return again should we decide to visit the area and stay overnight. "

"This is my go-to in San Francisco, for five reasons: 1) The lobby restaurant is pretty good and the snack bar is excellent. 2) I get rooms with balconies where I can vape. 3) Just outside the door is Philz Coffee, best of the coffee chains IMO. 4) The Embarcadero food and farmer's market scene. 5) And the views. The beds are good. The shower is the best of a bad situation. I dislike bath/shower combos with shower curtains. Here they've done the best they can by installing upgraded shower heads. There's not a lot of charm, but this hotel does large-downtown-business-oriented-chain as well as can be done. "
