The clientele are 99% older English couples, and this means the food options are somewhat limited and skewed towards their tastes (Brussels sprouts in gravy, shepherds pie). It is a lovely hotel in many ways, but if you don’t fall into this demographic it may not be the place for you."

"Just got home and have mixed reviews...... I went with 6 friends for my birthday, staying at different hotels but all similar prices. I was very disappointed in the room, it was small, dated, on the first floor and my balcony view was an old garage and alleyway. Much worse than all my friends rooms and i was upset, spoke to the staff, who were very helpful and they said they'd move me next day, as it happens when the next day came i agreed to stay in the original room. The staff were great and gave me a complimentary bottle of wine so my review is mixed, for the room I'd say at best 2 stars, the staff however were great, and very helpful I'd give them 5 stars so all in all 4bstars is probably fair."
