"Villa del Palmar Cancun Luxury Beach Resort offers a sophisticated yet family-friendly atmosphere, perfect for families, friends, or couples seeking an escape from busy city life. The property is grand, offering ample beach access and a convenient 10-minute walk to the Punta Sam ferry for trips to Isla Mujeres. My room was upgraded to a partial ocean villa suite, which featured a lanai extending the full length of the unit, complete with patio furniture and a hammock. The suite was well-equipped with a laundry closet, a full kitchen, and a pull-out couch in a large common area serviced by a full bathroom. The primary bedroom included a jetted tub and a separate shower, and I was pleased to find a Nespresso machine included with the kitchen amenities. I opted for the "room only" package rather than the all-inclusive plan, and I highly recommend this option. The on-site restaurants follow strict schedules; if you miss the breakfast buffet hours, there are few other nearby options unless you travel back into the city. Having a full kitchen is optimal for preparing your own meals on your own time. The property has three pools, two family pools and one adult section. Rooms located near the family pools tend to pick up more pool and activity noise. If a non-family vibe is required, the property next door offers adults only pools however it shares the beach with Villa del Palmar. Fair warning, the distance from city center requires a didi or Uber but the beaches make it worth it."

"The property looks nice but for a so-called 5 star resort lacks attention to details. The pools, restaurants and food are great which give a luxurious feel but the remaining amenities are average. We had a 4 night stay and kids activities like Zipline and Rock climbing were unavailable during the entire stay which raises questions about their family friendliness. Our 6 yo soon got bored after couple of days of pools and beach. We had mentioned our kids birthday celebration on our reservation and there was absolutely no acknowledgement when we entered the room which was disappointing. They never replenished in-room snacks during the entire stay. The rooms have a silly see through glass separating the bathroom which causes privacy issues for a family room. The wider good areas of the beach are reserved for elite guests and they sat empty. Rest of the guests were crowded in a narrow strip of the beach. A 5 star all-inclusive family resort needs to provide better service. I'll skip this one the next time. "

"We came here with 2 babies and a 4 year old and grandparents. Everyone had an incredible food! Food was great! Service was excellent! Nothing felt too rushed! Pools and hot tubs were very accessible and I love that it’s not a huge resort so it was very easy to get around with children! "

"Our 7 day visit in April 2026 was excellent. Building 4 swim out room was perfect for our end of beach day relaxation with Luis keeping us well hydrated as often as we asked! ( shout out from Marco, Pollo, and Patricio from SpongeBob---yes Luis was super fun) . Our butler Edgar was amazing ---we aren't super butler needy people but he would keep us updated on the days events and check in in person at least once a day to make sure everything was going well. Food was great.....no complaints Room amazing, open concept bathroom which I will never understand but that seems to be the thing. There is an extra private half bath in the living room area which is great. Some sargassum on the beach a few days, can't be helped as it is unusually bad this year. Otherwise beach is great, soft sand, no problem getting bali beds or palaces. The palaces are too close together however and the umbrellas are too low. This should really be remedied. while it seems like this resort was rushed to open in December, staff are everywhere fixing the grout, paint splashes etc so I see this issue being remedied. Good on Majestic. entertainment was typical all inclusive, the husbands liked the wrestling. We were looking forward to Queen tribute which didn't happen for some reason. All in all, great vacation and we would return!"
