"We had an amazing stay. We were in The Coquet room and it was just gorgeous. We ate in the restaurant on our first night and the food was excellent. The breakfast was superb, we both opted for the full english and I can't recommend it highly enough. The staff were really friendly and very helpful. Check in was easy and straightforward."

"The Tempus is such a beautiful hotel. Each room is magnificently decorated, and has a sense of luxury and elegance. The bar and breakfast are ideal and, again, beautifully designed. Driving up the mile long tree-lined drive, you know you’re in for something special, and The Tempus does not disappoint. Thank you for a lovely stay!"

"A great living space- open plan and spacious, pet friendly floors and secure garden. Often in rental cottages there are a few items in the kitchen- salt and pepper, oil, washing up liquid, but here it is cleaned out, just to be warned. A new bed or mattress needed for the main bedroom, it was very uncomfortable and would deter me for a weeks stay."

"Positives: We arrived late in the evening but this wasn't a problem as we were able to check in easily ourselves. Property was very spacious, modern and clean. Wonderful views to the sea and if you are up early, you can see a fabulous sunrise. Negatives: The kitchen was quite cold and the main bedroom too warm. A light by the check in box would be useful too but if you have a phone with a light you can manage this ok."

"Very clean and had most things we needed. Bed was really comfy and the view was beautiful. Only slight issue was that the underfloor heating was quite noisy, especially at night but it didn’t really affect our stay, just took a while to get used to."

"Property is well located and beds are comfy. It was very cold in the property when we arrived as the thermostat had been turned to 10 degrees and there were no matches to light the fire. The whole property felt like it needed a bit of a refresh.....walls marked, some mirrors cracked, doors & handles chipped, kitchen equipment mismatched and well used, some kitchen equipment broken, dining room chair broken and not usable. The shower has a slanted roof so not ideal as you have to duck to prevent hitting your head. We've stayed in a lot nicer properries in northumberland before and for less. The property managers are not very responsive either."

"Really enjoyed our time at the Hemmel and hopefully will return for a visit next year. Well equipped kitchen, comfy beds, cosy living space and just a perfect location to enjoy some beautiful beaches and scenic walks. Amenities were not on our doorstep but Embleton post office and deli is a 5 minute drive away and had everything we needed. Their sausage rolls were a real treat on our walk from the door to Embleton beach. Lots of great places to eat, plenty of recommendations in the guest book.. The Rocking Horse Cafe serves a fab Northumberland breakfast and we had a lovely dinner at Craster Arms in Beadnell."
