The resort itself was beautiful. The rooms were somewhat dated, and the bathroom shower had no hot water so I couldn’t wash my hair during the duration of my stay because I’d only get about a minute to two of lukewarm water to be able to rinse off before dinner each night. The staff was generally kind, though there was an expectation for tips (gentleman bringing my bags to my room, stood at the door and did not leave until I took out money - unfortunately for me, the smallest bill I had was a $20). The hotel worker running the towel hut asked if I had a husband and told me that I needed a Dominican baby in me and that he wanted to come back to Canada with me. I tried to politely laugh it off and walk away. Unfortunately, this was a daily conversation any time I had to change my towel (I travelled alone so couldn’t send someone else to do the towel exchange for me). The hotel does not provide shuttle service or transportation to/from the airport. The taxi I took claimed he would offer to drive me to the hotel from the airport for $50, pulled up to a gas station and told me I could tap my credit card, and when I did, I realize he charged me $75. Again, I was alone and it was nighttime and didn’t want to cause a fuss and jeopardize my safety.
The pool and beach are great, the resort is a perfect size in my opinion, ten buildings with only two floors in each. Not too large. Plenty of restaurant and food options. The watersides on site are a fun added bonus.
We stayed at the resort from March 14-22 (family of 5, three boys aged between 13-16) and had a very good but not perfect stay.
POSITIVES:
- clean grounds and rooms, you can definitely tell they went through a major renovation within the past 18-24 months
- large and enjoyable pool, which never felt crowded even though the resort was fully booked
- very good beach condition, and despite being windy most days we enjoyed the ocean with little to no seaweed
- plenty of dining options, but see NEGATIVES below for more details
- friendly staff
- great follow-up from concierge staff after they helped us deal with a somewhat serious medical issue
- the best a la carte restaurants for us were Umi (Pan Asian), Bella (Italian), but we were a little disappointed in the food overall
- out eldest used the gym a lot and found it to be well-equipped
NEGATIVES:
- be prepared to get up early to secure pool chairs... there simply aren't enough for even half the guests, and if you're not down to save a spot by 7am you might be out of luck
- while the staff was friendly, they didn't seem to try and draw guests into activities like we've experienced at other resorts in the past
- the food was MEH... not bad, but not particularly good either
- while the concierge staff was very helpful during a medical issue, we found the actual on-site doctor to be a little disorganized and casual in his approach to our situation... he did help get us sorted out, but could have made the process a little easier
Bldg Rm 7209 was cold damp and musty, I couldn’t get the temp above 18.5 - 19, even though I finally switched to heat set at 22. It never changed. I actually took the clothes that I was going to travel in and hung them on the balcony. My clothes were actually cold to the touch. I woke up several times in the night feeling the dampness.
With everything else being much better, I was very disappointed and uncomfortable in the room!!!
I went with a group of my friends. It was a beautiful and clean hotel. The staff were absolutely incredible and seemed very genuine The staff truly made our entire vacation so wonderful. In terms of safety, my biggest concern planning a trip to the DR was finding a resort in which I felt safe at (I had to do a lot of digging to convince my mom haha). I am happy to report that I felt safe the ENTIRE time at Wyndham. It is a very family oriented resort, I would highly recommend it to families. Although I went with a group of friends in college, we still had a wonderful time and there are things to do for people of all ages. The food was good and there was a wide variety of options. Overall I highly recommend! 10/10!
The staff were amazing, from the housekeeping team to the friendly staff everywhere you went. However in particular.. Samuel from the poolside bar was the best. I was thinking on my way there that the swim up bar would be my favourite… it wasn’t. Samuel made the trip every day with his electric attitude, his amazing personality and the way he interacted with my daughters making them special drinks and making them feel special. (They’re 8 and 11) thank you Samuel. See yoooouu brother
Honestly the "worst" part of the trip was the fact that our room was not cleaned more than once during our 6 night stay, however when we called for service they were super nice and prompt. Other than that, the staff was always super friendly, the pool was beautiful and food was great. We ended up upgrading to the VIP package which was well worth the extra few hundred $$. It was a super relaxing vacation in a gorgeous place!
We stayed at Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana for four days, and it was truly one of the best resort experiences we have ever had. From the moment we arrived, everything felt seamless, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed for both relaxation and fun. The atmosphere was the perfect balance. It was peaceful when we wanted to unwind and lively when we were ready to enjoy the activities. The food was exceptional across the board, with a wide variety of fresh and flavorful options at every meal. Every restaurant we tried exceeded our expectations. What really stood out was the service. The staff was attentive, warm, and genuinely committed to making sure guests had an amazing experience. We felt taken care of throughout our entire stay. We left feeling refreshed and happy, and we are already talking about our next visit. We will absolutely be back.

The resort although a bit dated in some respects was very beautiful and well maintained. The pool was gorgeous and so inviting. The beach was kept clean and was very enjoyable. The check-in staff wasn't the best experience. She was not very friendly at all and didn't assist us with wifi etc. Most of the staff was very friendly and helpful but a handful not so much. One big issue is that at both the beach and pool area there are not enough chairs. We had a swim up room and people continued to take our chairs that were part of the reason we booked the room. The food was okay. Some meals were better than others such as Bella and the Japanese restaurants were very good.
Clean and new rooms. Property very well maintained. Good food, nice staff.
But as a club member room there really should not be a charge for room service!

Just be careful. We just come back. Travelling with a two year old kid. The hotel facilities were nice and entertaining. Room was clean and decent. Easy access to beach. However, although food varies a lot, the buffet quality was not the best. You realise some of fried foods are not fresh as well as fruits. Restaurants had better menu. But the problem is management. We had a serious problem with late check out. They literally confirmed in the text conversation a fixed 15usd before we go there. And then at the last day they said it’s 15usd per hour! At the end they offer us 45 minutes access to another room to shower after we check out at 12. But the room was dirty with dirty bathroom with hairs everywhere and already used towels.almost broken hairdryer and not working light. Horrible if you just can imagine. Have in mind if you chose here. The staff not always nice. Mostly ok. But we encounter some not nice attitude from few as well. Was not that pleasant. If you go for a standard stay with no special needs of conditions it might be ok for you but I definitely will not come back. Also, if you ask for a shuttle service for a gift shop or similar add ons be sure to ask few staff cause you will here total different answers from different people. One told us there is any. Two hours later another staff told it’s cost something. And third time we are told there are two free options! The hotel definitely lack a professional management
Stay was ok but was expecting a little more. Resort was clean & staff friendly but it seemed understaffed at times especially with prolonged waits for food & drinks.
Additionally, food quality was very average at best. Very disappointed the Steakhouse,
”Brasas” was closed our entire stay(5 days).
